Imagine the desperation of fleeing to Uganda.
No Idi Amin; however, his legacy survives. Refugee camps cannot be vacation sites. Since relief funds must pass through the corrupt central bank, refugees remain endangered. The tribal violence is recurring. Anything generational about this, John? Or are the natives just restless?

The problem with trying to do a generational analysis of the DRC is
that there are dozens of tribes and dozens of crisis wars, and each
tribe could theoretically be on a different timeline. It would be
possible to sort it all out with a lot of research. Perhaps some day
some college student will do that research for a Master's thesis in
something or other.
