You are correct. Typo. If China sees Ukraine get routed with no international support, it will embolden them on Taiwan. Perhaps that's irrelevant, because they are going to do it anyway.

There's a 3-mile long convoy of Russian soldiers, tanks, weapons, and
support equipment headed for Ukraine's capital city Kiev, and the
Battle of Kiev.

The city's mayor, as well as president Zelenskyy, have both expressed
defiance and pride that Ukrainians are determined to defend
themselves.

Russia has already inflicted massive destruction on Kharkiv, Ukraine's
second largest city. However, the Russians apparently have not yet
taken control of the city, due to stiff resistance from the
Ukrainians. The same pattern is expected in the Battle of Kiev, which
will probably begin within the next 24 hours.

There is currently a farcical "peace conference" under way between
delegations from Ukraine and Russia on the border between Ukraine and
Belarus. Russia pressed hard for this "peace conference," evidently
to demand capitulation before the Battle of Kiev. However, there is
no chance at all that the Ukrainians will capitulate.

Russia's "military operation" in Ukraine has gone so poorly that
analysts are saying that Putin is trapped. Russia has had hundreds of
casualties, lost dozens of tanks and 30 aircraft down, since Russia
has failed to achieve air superiority. Some analysts are suggesting
that unless Putin scores a win in the next few days, he will be ousted
or killed by the generals. So Putin is totally desperate to score a
win at the Battle of Kiev.

There are now about 500,000 Ukrainian refugees that have fled to other
countries, especially Poland and Hungary (see map above), according to
the UN. The UN is predicting two million or more refugees in the next
few weeks.

Putin is undoubtedly also shocked at the extent of the international
opposition to the invasion. Putin certainly expected to take
advantage of a split among the countries of Nato, but now the Nato
countries seem completely unified. Even Germany will be sending
lethal weapons to Ukraine, in a major reversal of policy.

This is the generational theory "Regeneracy" that I've been talking
about for years. I've been writing about it domestically, as the
regeneracy of civic unity, where Americans put political differences
aside and unite against the common enemy. Today we're seeing the same
thing internationally, as countries around the world unite against
Russia.

The interesting political battle in the next few months will be over
energy. So-called "green" policies in America and Europe have been an
absolutely disaster, as they've made Europe much more dependent on
Russia, and they've raised oil prices so that America and Europe are
funding Russia's war in Ukraine.

Two things to watch for in the next few months: Germany might reverse
its decision to close down two nuclear power plants. And the Biden
administration may find a way to "temporarily" reverse the regulations
against oil and gas production.

Update (12:30 pm ET): The "peace conference" has ended for now,
to resume in a few days.

Who knows... One of the lessons I'm taking from the Ukraine situation is that a dictator just does whatever they want. If they insulate themselves, they believe they are invincible and can do anything. In a rational world, seeing the international community support Ukraine ought to discourage China. But, I think it a fallacy to believe that XI will act rationally.

But I wouldn't anyway, I'd be too busy trying to be orthodox and taking care of my family, instead of degenerates tearing it apart in the USA

FWIW, I think it entirely possible that Putin will go for broke (literally) and crash our stock market and/or electrical grid. I think that could create a regeneracy event. That would hit very close to home and affect literally everyone negatively. I think a Taiwan invasion is something we would consider very concerning too, but wouldn't hit as close to home. Timing is everything though and perhaps China will move on Taiwan regardless.

I also don't see how Russia goes back to normal and we kick the can again.. hope I'm wrong - but this feels to me like we just crested an icy hill on a car and we're starting down and have no idea how bad out of control it's gonna get really quick.

We should get an idea of the answer to that question when Biden gives
the State of the Union speech tomorrow.

Snowden has been a traitor for a long time. Stealing classified information and giving it to an enemy and seeking asylum from an enemy kinda fits the definition. They fact that you don't see this says something about you.

Americans understand that the government always had the potential to be an enemy, it's literally the foundation of our country. That you don't see that they steal information from us and use it as a cudgel (against we the people) is more sad than baffling to me.

You seem to be of the opinion that's it's "either/or" instead of "and".

They fact that the US government invades citizen's privacy and uses that information in sometimes dubious ways doesn't change the fact that Snowden IS a traitor.
