John the "out breed quote" quote my be like the Chinese curse "May you live in interesting times" an English expression purporting to be a translation of a traditional Chinese curse http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/May_you_li ... ting_times - -- that is, somewhat generic and not attributable to anyone.

Let me explain.
When he cut a deal with the West to give his WMD over a decade ago, he spoke with some journalists. One of the journalists said he believed Muslims needed WMD to defend themselves against the Western onslaught across the Muslim world. That was how he responded. That's how the interviewed played out. More or less...

As far as Muslim population growth, it seems to be following an age old trend: prosperity generally leads to population decline. Turkey is now on track to have two children families. From one article I read, so are Tunisia and Algeria. Bosnian Muslims don't have large numbers of children (and they are trying to recover from genocide). Albanians do have a lot of children, but (at least) 1/3 of them are Christians. And the average Albanian Muslim is secular. Only the poorest Arab countries still have large families. I'm not surprised to hear that places as impoverished and horrible as Gaza has sky-high population growth. And I remember in the 1990s, the Indonesian government encouraged people to wait until they were 30 to get married and have smaller families (or was that Malaysia?)
I think John is track. I'm not happy about it.
I have had a rather interesting life. I've experienced a lot. I would rather see peaceful and reasonable negotiations. Peace. Unfortunately, extremists on both sides seem to want war. (And the most dangerous are the whack jobs that think God has willed genocidal destruction upon certain peoples.) I think cowards are behind so much of this. That's why some people choose to live in caves on isolated islands. Some people want war, but are afraid to fight in one themselves. They don't want to get hurt in the fighting, nor see their children torn and burned. That's for other people's children, right?

Where is Iron Dome when you really need it? Like I said:Guest wrote:And what if the Israelis roll into Gaza and kill thousands of Palestinians in Gaza? Will Iron Dome protect Jews in Europe? If the Israelis declare (de facto) open season on Palestinian civilians, whose to say that that (Jewish) civilian deaths won't spread to the streets of Europe? The Israelis have been able to get away with a lot, but times have changed. Keep pushing. Keep pushing.
Anti-Israel protesters attack Paris synagogue
“Thank God they were there because the protesters had murder on their minds and it took a while before police reinforcements arrived,” Azria added.

Once again, innocent civilians suffer the most:
According to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, a majority of those killed in Gaza so far -- 70 percent -- have been civilians, of whom 30 percent were children.
Iron Dome deals out death and destruction to the defenseless Palestinians of Gaza. However, the defenseless Jews of France and the rest of Europe are vulnerable. I'm not happy about this. I view it the way John does: as a matter of fact. This reminds of me of General Macarthur's "bomb'em were they ain't" strategy. Hit the soft targets and inflict casualties with little risk to your own side. The Israelis are doing it in Palestine, so the Arabs will do it elsewhere- like Europe.

Are you trying to say that maltreatment of citizens and prisoners of war are Total War? I'm truly not certain of your point.Guest wrote:Dick Cheney, is that you?psCargile wrote:The Rest of The World is those countries that do not practice Total War. America and Israel are not practicing total war when US forces are handicapped by ridiculous rules of engagement in Afghanistan, and Israel is calling Hama leaders to tell them an airstrike on their rocket launch sites are imminent. That's sparing civilian lives for the looking good politically. I think the Muslims are going to attain much of their goals because no one is going to stand against them beyond a half-hearted try.
Total war is genocide. If you're not willing to commit genocide in a crisis war, odds are you are going to lose.
The British medical journal Lancet placed the number of Iraqi dead in the hundreds of thousands back in 2004. An the Lancet spokesman emphasized repeatedly that that was a conservative estimate. With Abu Ghraib only the tip of the iceberg, how much torture and sexual crime was actually committed by American soldiers? Wait! God knows. Maybe that's why America is drowning in debt, illegals, disease, and corruption. Maybe America played a dirty game, and it's all coming home to roost. Betcha never thought of that, wise guy?
There used to be a time when civilian casualties and collateral damage was part and parcel of war, it was what happened because it was hard to prevent. And, also at the time, we went to war with Nations, and in which civilians were just as culpable of their nation's war effort as their government—this is speaking within the scope of generational dynamics where the people are ultimately responsible for their leadership. We don’t go to war with Nations any more. We go to war with Regimes. We don’t hold the citizens responsible for their leadership, we attempt to “liberate” them, and we toss out candy to children like we are in a damn parade because it’s good “optics” and we want these kids to grow up liking us. The Germans weren’t concerned about how many British civilians they were killing with buzz bombs, and the Allies weren’t wringing their hands over killing Germans during massive industrial bombing raids. That was the goal, to kill each other, until one side couldn’t keep up with the killing. That’s war. War is murder. Murder is immoral. But we try to make it moral by having these rules and restrictions so that we in Western Civilization can fight a Gentlemen’s War. Well, the enemy doesn’t give a shit about that. They don’t put on uniforms, so they blur the line between combatant and civilian. In a Gentlemen’s War, everyone is supposed to wear a uniform so we know exactly who we can kill. Achmed and Mohammad? Well, they’re smart enough to know bullshit when they see it and use our rules and restrictions against us. They are going to put weapons in mosques and wear tunics, and our response is, “They got us there, boys. We can’t afford to look like assholes.”
