I think in the near term it may roughly follow 1929. The first leg down looked similar to the first leg down in 1929 in that both lasted 23 trading days. The difference is the Dow lost about 17 percent during the first leg down in 1929 and this first leg down lost more. So I'm open to the upcoming crash being steeper than the 1929 crash. The fundamental reason supporting that is even now the market is more overvalued in many respects than it was at the 1929 high. For example, if GDP has dropped more than the SPX has dropped from the 2020 highs, then in one respect the SPX is even more overvalued than stocks were at either the 1929 or 2020 highs. Once the equivalent of October 1929 is done, I'll be open to a deeper drop than happened toward the equivalent of the November 13, 1929 low, which was the low for the year 1929 before the recovery into April 1930. There are some who are saying that now is the equivalent of April 1930 and certainly we have almost an exact 90 year separation. I don't agree, but if that's the case, the long grind down is already beginning. From a GD perspective, which I agree with, the generational crash day that gets burned into everybody's memory for a lifetime has not happened yet and must happen.
