Financial topics
Re: Financial topics
Almost everywhere is less than 300 deaths per million population from covid-19, so 0.03% overall. The vast majority of these are older and have co-morbidities. As people realize that the 3.4% deathrate is just not true, the panic will fade.
People generally think the Fed can save the stock market and economy by printing money. I think if we keep seeing nearly 1 million people per day lose their jobs every thursday morning that people may start to lose their foolish faith in the Fed. Tomorrow's number will be interesting.
People who have lost their jobs need to drastically reduce their budget. One way is moving in with someone else. This means they no longer pay rent, a bunch like this no longer buying expensive coffee means that business may close and stop paying rent, these landlords can't pay their mortgages, etc, etc. There is going to be a cascade of problems.
Even as covid-19 panic goes down, the economic problems will get worse and worse. Over the coming weeks and months the panic should move to the economy and stock market. But exact timing unclear...

When the actual numerators and denominators with institutional bias are parsed I will ask
the girls how bad was the local ass-kicking uptick real life issues. We noted the initial WHO servile drones
and I hope The Office cuts off their sorry asses for what is known to date.
Pope in a Popsicle stick we had to get some PPE for the model Vin indicates and stack bodies.
Next data fragility essay coming up.
Not pretty but we understand Lansings mandate for now.

Re: Financial topics
Currently its say 2 or 3% of those infected. How the maths eventually pans out remains to be seen. The 1918 flu killed 50 to 100 million on a world population of 1.5 billion. On current death rates we won't get close to that percentageJohn wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2020 12:31 pm ** 15-Apr-2020 World View: Tomorrow, when the world is free

This was the deathbed counsel given to his sons by Roman Emperor Septimius Severus in A.D. 211
Tomorrow they will be fighting for taxpayers. Their primary (only) goal today should be to support and save their local economies — businesses, homeowners and other taxpayers — so that they have a foundation left on which to build later. If they kill off their tax base or drive businesses and taxpayers out of their states or localities, they will have poured salt on their fields and they will starve in the future. Their political careers will be over.

I'm pretty sure that's when the business community decided that it's time to back to work.

One day later, Rojas was arrested by Maduro’s special police force, which claimed it received an anonymous tip that Rojas had been diagnosed with COVID-19, even though he had not, according to the Committee to Protect Journalists. His parents were also detained and questioned by police but eventually released the same night.
Similarly, Dr. Rubén Duarte posted a video to social media asking the Maduro regime for equipment so his hospital could meet sufficient health codes to treat coronavirus patients. In retaliation the Maduro regime’s counterintelligence agency detained Duarte.

Her priorities are no longer the residents of Michigan but her possible position as V.P. for Biden.

I've been unemployed since March 22nd and still cannot get into the unemployment.

As a land real estate broker in the state of Michigan I approached the Michigan Association of Realtors inquiring about showing a farm to a client that wanted to purchase and prepare for a spring planting. DENIED due to Executive Order. Believe me, I followed up, I can more than social distance on a showing of 100's of vacant acres. Again DENIED. Good luck as farms and supply chains close down city folks. Your Governor is a VP candidate without your best interests in mind. Lucky we can Sail and buy weed and alcohol in the state, no trolling motors for fishing or farms but as long as we are stoned and blowing in the wind she's Ok with it. Good luck.

It is really like 2 or 3% of those going to the hospital and sick enough for staff to decide to use up a test on them. This is not a random sample of the population. There is lots of reason to believe that there are like 20 times as many people who had the virus but never got tested (mostly because they did not have any symptoms or only mild ones).richard5za wrote: Wed Apr 15, 2020 2:10 pm

The way I am confident of this theory is that for any given island, town state, country, the deaths per million population is always far far less than 2 or 3%. Also, early antibody testing shows far far more people had the virus than ever knew they had it.

Scientists have reconstructed the early "evolutionary paths" of COVID-19 as the infection spread from Wuhan, out to Europe and North America, an advance that sheds light on the mutations undergone by the novel coronavirus since its origin.
According to the researchers, including those from the University of Cambridge in the UK, there are three distinct "variants" of COVID-19, consisting of clusters of closely related lineages, which they labelled 'A', 'B' and 'C'.
By analysing the first 160 complete virus genomes to be sequenced from human patients, the study, published in the journal PNAS, mapped some of the original spread of the new coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, through its mutations into the lineages.

more testing location are in place to hit it early those infected
proper guidance to get checked on early symptoms would be logic

Re: Financial topics
I posted this awhile back about how brutal counter trend rallies in the stock market can be. Assuming we have seen the high in the stock market, we're in one now - a big one.Higgenbotham wrote: Fri Feb 28, 2020 1:09 pm As the market rallied back up, I was able to increase the size of my position and I took a large short position, covering near the low after the first wave of the retrace rally. Then I took an even larger position on the next rally up. It was here that I got myself in trouble by taking too large a position too soon (by then I was short 20 lots). My broker called me at work around noon and said margins wanted me out by the close if we stayed up at that level. That afternoon the market collapsed and I was able to stay in. Moral of the story is if a retrace wave comes from this area, watch out. It may go higher than you or I would think possible.
I sold 5 lots last week and have been working to bring my average up by taking some money out every session. I got the average on those 5 up to 2645 tonight. Then I added 5 more tonight at 2781. The market (S&P) is currently trading 2802.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.
