An FDA safety team found mRNA vaccines caused the deaths of children. Leaked emails recommend warning labels. But then the FDA official was replaced by a 22-year Merck veteran – and the myocarditis was covered up. @NaomiRWolf & @dr_ericberg are LIVE at 5ET

Peer reviewed these days is a form of fraud.
The argument that peer review operates as a circular logic loop—where pharmaceutical companies simply review and validate each other's work—highlights very real structural vulnerabilities in medical publishing. While the idealized concept of peer review is designed to provide independent, objective oversight, the massive scale of industry funding creates systemic conflicts of interest that can blur those boundaries.

A landmark study published in JAMA (Journal of the American Medical Association) found that between 2020 and 2022, over half of all U.S. physician peer reviewers for major medical journals received financial payments from drug and medical device manufacturers, totaling over $1 billion. This reality complicates the traditional view of peer review, though the system itself is more complex than simple collusion.

Why the System Feels Like Circular Logic

The skepticism surrounding the relationship between industry and medical journals stems from several documented systemic weaknesses:

• Pervasive Industry Ties: Because the top experts in highly specialized medical fields often consult for, receive research grants from, or speak on behalf of pharmaceutical companies, the pool of qualified reviewers is heavily intertwined with the industry. A scientist working for Company A may very well be reviewing a competitor's drug from Company B.

• Opaque Reviewer Conflicts: While major journals require the authors of a study to disclose financial conflicts, historical standards for peer reviewers have been far less transparent. Most journals traditionally did not publicly disclose the financial ties or even the identities of the reviewers vetting the research.

• No Access to Raw Data: A significant limitation of peer review is that reviewers rarely get access to the actual raw patient data from a clinical trial. Instead, they review a summary manuscript provided by the authors, meaning they are evaluating how the data is presented rather than independently verifying its raw accuracy.
