Sky TV is for sale. The Murdoch brothers have the inside track but they have to curry favor with British regulators. They want FNC and Sky to become a global network rivaling then surpassing CNN. If the Murdoch brothers succeed in purging the "old guard" at FNC, then the UK will approve the merger and a new much larger empire than NewsCorp will emerge on a global scale.
Sadly, "global" = "ultra-left" and thus why they are willing to sacrifice a percentage of the U.S. viewership in exchange for a stranglehold on UK, Canadian, US, European, and probably Asian audiences for the decades to come. Keep in mind this would include Fox Sports and Sky Sports which will give them a much larger viewership than anything the U.S. has to offer. We're talking tens of billions in potential profit, not just what FNC.
Fox bows to the scarlet whore.
Fox heads left, sell... The talking heads will figure it our they are under the bus.
Cable and satellite are indeed dying.
The Brits want nothing to do with FNC or it's "anti-freedom" bias as the bureaucrats see it. They think "conservatism" (FNC style) is more like Francoism, thus the opposition of the primarily socialist bureaucrats which control this decision on the merger.
Americans once again are to stupid to fathom they are just grain colony subjects and the majority just plantation serfs.
