NoOneImportant ..... The magnet attracting illegal and legal immigrants to this country consists of “free stuff” provided by someone’s generation. Perhaps your generation is responsible. Perhaps you believe that the Haves should be forced to give to the Have Not’s. It doesn’t change anything and is only an observation.

The way I see it, remove the free stuff and you will remove most of the problem (illegal immigration) as we both see it. When I write of “money” I thought I was clearly referring to paying (with money) for free stuff transferred to non-producers. But nothing is free… as you know. But I am an “open borders” kind a’ guy … once the “free stuff” is removed. I hope that clears that up.

While I take pride in my country, I am not nationalistic. I know that borders can change overnight yet agree that without borders a “nation” cannot exist. Perhaps we are headed toward tribalism ….

Not sure where much of your rant is based; caffeine? I have been called a lot of things but never a “socialist” or “new age” so I’ll just have to dismiss your misconception. I think one problem of writing back and forth as opposed to a face to face discussion is the greater chance of misinterpretation. Body language can be important to understanding a particular meaning where mere words may fail. But in all discussion be polite and well mannered. There is nothing personal here. Or perhaps “Chill Dude.” (LOL)

Yes, free stuff is a very strong inducement, as well as less tyranny. One of my ancestors ran from Eastern Europe because he had a price on his head. He was involved is a revolt of serfs against the landlords. Freedom does have a strong draw.

I will always America, my country. To my dying breath, I will be an American. Will I die in America? I honestly doubt it.

Having lived half my life in foreign countries, returning to America always made me feel "safe": back in a law abiding country of free men. Now, I don't know. It seems lawlessness is rife. Pathological deviants like jimi4881 seem to be everywhere these days.

The collapse of the welfare state and the complete breakdown of law and order will wipe the smirk of the faces of the scoungers. I can't wait until the tattooed denizens of the welfare state riot, kill, and loot stores, just to find out that the trucks won't be delievering anymore food the nest day and that there was barely a days food on the store shelves. When the power goes down and their smart phones no longer work, what will the "talented" yet UNSKILLED scoungers do? They will STARVE TO DEATH.

When I was in college, I studied the fall of the Roman Empire. I read letters written by Romans in the last years of the empire, and I felt-in my bones-that that would be my fate: TO BEAR WITNESS to the end of America. Since the late 80s, I knew this day would come. Now we are all here. I thank God (sincerely) that I never had children. If I had children, I would wake up screaming every day. I know how the Germans must have felt in April 1945 with the Russian approaching. Their fate was sealed. Some opted for poison. I think I'll opt to see it through; just because I want to see the looks on the faces of the scoungers when it collapses.

One of my last exams in college dealt with Yeats. I sincerely feel this was fate. Now, this peom has more power than ever:

I'd like to thank the decent and hard working people of the America for being just that: decent and hard working.

I can only hope that something can be salvaged out the wreckage that is worth having.
