One thing most of you don't realize is that in the same way 300,000 heavily armed and trained Afghan forces melted away, so too will US forces melt away in the coming World War.

The whole house of cards was held together by 10-15,000 US and NATO troops, plus all their air power and tech.

Tech is what allows small numbers of forces to control huge populations and as that tech is depleted in a World War, control diminishes, ethnic and religious groups will coalesce into their interest groups. In addition, US troops forced to fight without air support are cowards. This was seen in Gulf War I and II, where platoons would just hide in cover and call in air strikes whenever they encountered heavy resistance. When the air support isn't there, US troops will melt away, just as the Afghans did this weekend when US and allied air support disappeared. Of course there are a number of brave and aggressive warrior class Americans, but they won't be enough to stem the flood of 100 million Chinese cannon fodder.

Dude, where do you come up with this stuff?

100 years ago people didn't see the population as homogeneous; they saw it as English or Irish or Italian or Polish or German; many of whom hated the other groups. In many respects, the US population of more homogeneous now, unless you're one of those people who thinks that having light colored skin is something magical.

People serving in the US military are not "many ethnic groups with diverging interests, only held together by a generous welfare state, lots of free stuff from the Fed printing press." If you really believe that you need to put down the bong and try again. And, no, US forces are not cowards when they don't have air support. What they do have is a doctrine that says that that they are valuable resources and shouldn't be trading their lives for things unless it's vital. Since inducting and training a new soldier can cost upwards of a million dollars and several years, yes, they should let a JDAM or artillery or something else do the work. The US has long had a doctrine of replacing manpower with firepower which is even more important because we have no need for uneducated infantry.

And China doesn't have 100 million cannon fodder because 1. China has moved to a Western style military where well trained soldiers are much more important than numbers; 2. China doesn't have the equipment or logistics to support that many; 3. The number people in China of suitable age and fitness for military service is rapidly shrinking and that number is not available. Plus the fact that there is no way a sizable number of Chinese soldiers could get anywhere they couldn't walk. Getting 1/100th of your number to North America would be impossible. Perhaps 1/1000th if there was no need to supply them after arrival. Good luck on that.

There are enough real dangers in the future that need to be looked at that ridiculous proclamations like this aren't just unhelpful, they're detrimental by sucking up attention.

This is complete nonsense. This is a generational Crisis era in
America. Afghanistan is in a generational Awakening era. That's why
the Afghan forces melted away.

Even when we fought a war during an Awakening era, the Vietnam war, we
lost that war, and it was a debacle, but we still put up a good fight
for a while, because the American armed forces could impose discipline
even during an Awakening era. Of course, there were soldiers hiding
out in Canada or holding antiwar protests, but the American forces
still did an honorable job. We didn't just collapse like the Afghans.

The Afghan army collapsed for the reasons I've been saying for years.
Most of the Afghan army are Pashtuns, and the Taliban are radicalized
Pashtuns. Many people in each army are brothers or cousins of people
in the other army. So the Taliban could sweep through the country
through tribal and family relationships.

In case of a war with China today, in a generational Crisis era, there
is no chance at all that the American armed forces will fold. They'll
fight to the last bullet.
