During the attack, 8 Christians were killed, and many more were wounded. I was asked to speak at the burial of several who were killed in this attack. Even as a pastor, it's difficult to find the words to say. No doubt, at a time like this, there are many feelings of anger and hatred. After giving as much comfort as I could to the families and friends, I urged them to resist thoughts of vengeance and retaliation. I encouraged them to use the tools that we are given by the Holy Spirit that will bring true spiritual victory over this violent conflict, saying,

"Islam is a religion of hatred, violence, and deception. As believers and followers of Christ, we fight hatred with love, violence with peace,
and deception with truth."

Makes me wonder what Charles the Hammer Martel would have said in the early 700s after such an event.
