To me the mood on my Twitter feed has changed. Many people now think the Fed has lost control. Many now think we will get hyperinflation.
I have selected who I follow, so it is not a random sample of all of Twitter, but even among those I follow it was not like this before the 7.5% CPI.
Many think the Fed should try something dramatic to try to regain control but most realize that the stock market tanks if they do.
It is not clear to me if the Monday Fed meeting is really an emergency meeting or if it was already scheduled. Some say emergency and some say it was scheduled.
If we are not already doomed, I really think an 8% CPI next month would do it. Far fewer people still think the Fed can leave interest rates at under 1% and get the inflation back down to 2%.

The conventional inflation wisdom of the 70's to 90's was if inflation goes above 10% expect hyper inflation since above 10% becomes very difficult to control.
