You can set it up for either or both.

What did you think of the history of Vietnam?
I really enjoyed it but that's probably because I don't know too much about it. My parents immigrated to Canada during the Vietnam War and I've lived a sheltered life in regards to our history. My parents don't talk about it much as I'm sure it was such a chaotic time for them that I'm not really sure they've processed the experience themselves thoroughly.

Were your parents from North Vietnam or South Vietnam?

** 07-Apr-2019 World View: US withdraws troops from Libya as fighting continues in Tripoli

Three days ago, I described how Libya is close to war:

*** 04-Apr-2019 World View: Libya close to war, as Haftar's army moves west

http://gdxforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... 951#p44951

Since then, the army of Khalifa Haftar (Hiftar) has entered Tripoli
from three sides, and has been met with militias from Misrata who are
loyal to the existing Tripoli government. According to reports, 21
people have been killed, and 27 wounded.

Reports I've heard are mixed about how this is likely to turn out. Some
analysts say that Haftar will probably not succeed in Tripoli, and
his army will be driven back.

Another report claims that Haftar's intention is to become a dictator,
using Muammar Gaddafi as a model. Haftar was once a general
under Gaddafi.

Africom, the US Africa Command, has announced:
> "Due to increased unrest in Libya, a contingent of
> U.S. forces supporting U.S. Africa Command temporarily relocated
> from the country in response to security conditions on the ground.

> U.S. Africa Command’s mission in Libya involves military support

Fighting is continuing. Calls by the United Nations for a
temporary truce were ignored.

** 07-Apr-2019 World View: Libya addendum

Some additional notes to the above story on Libya.

Egypt and the UAE are backing Hafter, while Italy, France, Britain and
the United States are backing the existing government.

There's a fear that if the chaos in Tripoli worsens, then there
will be a new flood of refugees crossing the Mediterranean
Sea to reach Europe.

You're a man of many, many talents. How about if you create the first
GD Man comic book?
Right,.. you can't see it, but this is me laughing my backside off..!! :)

I'd probably be dangerous if I had ANY realistic artistic talent, but the best I could do is to possibly write up some "comic book dialog and blocking" and draw a bunch of stick figures for a real artist to fill out.

..we'll see what wacky weirdness I can come up with. (Oh my gahhhhhhhhhd! I'm not promising any actual educational value, or even entertainment value, but... yeesh!)

Now, PLEASE do carry on with the serious bits in this thread, as my silliness seems a little contrapuntal to the meter/tone in here.

My family was from South Vietnam, close to Saigon but not in the city itself. My uncle was a soldier in the south Vietnamese army but he didn't see any battle. When my family fled on boat, they were probably scared that he would be captured by the north Vietnamese and tortured or put to death but then there were rumors that south Vietnamese deserters were to be imprisoned or killed anyway, but by then I think most of south Vietnam was scrambling anyway as the northern army was approaching the capital.

Thanks for the corrections. You did a very thorough review
of the book. Thank you.
