Financial topics
Re: Financial topics
For those who think, from BD and understand the Calvary is not coming.
1 Timothy 5:8 (ASV) But if any provideth not for his own, and specially his own household, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever.

from BD:
Just finished the caregiver role myself. Mom moved in with me in 1992 but remained very independent. That all changed as Alzheimer's stole more & more of her ability to care for herself. I continued to work full-time & look after her affairs but her anxiety & increasing confusion piled on the stress as her panicked calls to me at work grew more & more frequent & I was less and less able to defuse them easily. I was stressed to the max & also fearful that my job would tell me I was fired because of the amount of interruptions per day & the time I was spending dealing with mom while at work. Eventually, I was scared to death to leave in the mornings for fear of her wandering off while I was gone or her accidentally burning down my house or something. She refused all attempts to place her in elder daycare or have someone come sit with her while I worked. I begged the local Office of Aging for help...either forcing the issue on a "sitter" or placing her in a home against her will. I was told no one could help me because she was still capable of saying she wanted to stay with me. Mind you, she knew my name, but had no clue who I was....I was either a longtime neighbor or her co-worker...but she was deemed legally capable of making the decision where she lived. BUT, authorities were quick to tell me that, if I walked out that door each morning knowing that she wasn't capable of safely caring for herself that I could be legally responsible for neglect if something happened while I was gone. I was quite literally held as a legal prisoner in my own home because no agency would consent to help me. I eventually ended up quitting my job to care for her 24/7, selling my home & moving 1000 miles away where the cost of living was low enough that we could survive on what little she got in SS. I spent an entire year caring for her on my own & spending my savings to pick up the slack of her SS despite the fact that I have a sibling. He never lifted a finger for her, never helped me with her expenses, made a federal case out of it when I would get stressed to the point of needing 2 hrs to myself & always have an excuse why he couldn't sit with her for even that short amount of time and then, once we moved, continually put off coming out to visit her. He could never find the time in that year & she died without ever seeing him again. When she died, I was the one that made all of the arrangements & dealt with all of the issues. She wanted to be buried next to my dad back East. She died in March. My brother has not even told his work that she passed, has not taken funeral leave & has not come out to claim her ashes so that they can be buried where she wanted. After she passed, I started looking for work right away. Couldn't find anything & now I didn't even have her paltry SS to live on. No monetary help from my brother...but he was VERY quick to claim what little money she had left... & since I had QUIT my job to care for her (because I wasn't given a legal choice), I was ineligible for unemployment. Since I had NO income & was smart & moral enough to not be a single parent, I was ineligible for Medicaid. Blew through some more of my savings. Finally found a good paying job. The whole experience of being abandoned by the "system" has made me want to yell "Fuck the government" from the rooftop & being abandoned by my sibling to shoulder all of the responsibility & financial burden makes me want to tell him to 'piss off', too. If he never comes to visit (or claim mom's ashes for burial) I'd be OK with that. I've stopped asking because, frankly, I don't really care to see him anymore. In fact, I do believe, if by some miracle that he actually makes an effort to come out here, that I'll just be "too busy".

Because it is said we are only aware of the very small conscious at any given time, the theory has been likened to an iceberg, where the vast majority is buried beneath the water’s surface. The water by the way would represent everything that we are not aware of, have not experienced, and that has not been integrated into our personalities. No wonder the Library of Alexandria was an accident.

Re: Financial topics
Umberto Terracini : At the age of 16 he joined the Socialist Youth League (FGS), an unusual choice for a young student of the “Liceo classico”, and distinguished himself in the propaganda against the Libyan war. He soon became secretary of the Piedmontese branch of FGS and in 1914 vigorously campaigned against Italy’s intervention in World War I. Two years later he was arrested for the first time for anti-war activities. Shortly afterwards was called up for the military service and sent to the front. Demobilized in 1919, he completed his law degree at Turin University. Along with Gramsci, Togliatti and Tasca, he was one of the founders of “L’Ordine Nuovo”, a left socialist journal whose programme Lenin would acknowledge in early 1920 to be the closest to that of the Third International.

Re: Financial topics
Well at the age where both sides are having medical issues and more and more time is spent caring. Fortunately everyone is still cognitively supple. Mrs M and I were conversing about where we would like to live which is restricted by various cords and ties that bind. I suppose when Wisconsin is not only cities but towns we will just have to protect what we can where we can. That AnneB seems to have been quite correct stating TPTB will use Mamohet and BLM etc to attack the locals. I have read in various places, but do not know if it is really the case, that Jacobin and Bolsheviks were not "native" and in fact waged war against the "natives" by turning their power structures against them. Russia had the largest bomber command in the world after WW! and used it on reluctant farmers who did not want to relent to the state. All dissent must be crushed as Freemasonry takes its final form in the failed USSA. I cannot seem to generate the amount of vitriol against Vlad as John does. When you look at some of the Soros leaks it seems to support the idea that he was funding Orange revolutions in an attempt to over throw state govts and profit on the chaos. He is doing the same in EU by helping migrants arrive and it is throwing areas into chaos and it will be war or total defeat as Luther created anarchy and there is no structure left anymore to resist as there was up to the early 17th century.from BD:

Where do you find these things?
Anyway I likes this particular part:
Many physicists and astronomers believe that our universe originated from a singularity that began expanding with the Big Bang. However, if singularities do not exist, then physicists have to rethink their ideas of the Big Bang and whether it ever happened.
Well they will find out soon enough in any case.
Any thoughts on 2 Ice Floes?

When I was a much younger man I met an Amish elder and sat down for a long talk. I was genuinely curious and he was very open about what they were doing. While much of what he said was intermixed with religion, what he was basically saying is man is insane and will destroy himself. They want no part of it. So they weren't really preparing for the end, but rather just not participating in the insanity. Their religion says you will go insane if you follow this path. I tend to agree.

Water CD
Fresh water is critical. Before the grid goes down you might want to purchase one of these. We did and we love it. http://blueridgepumps.com/
... there is an optional DC 12V or 24V motor that is EMP proof and can be easily attached. From there you can either power it with solar panels or just a car battery if needed. Nice system. We decided not to go with the motor because we have other backup systems. The DC motor pumps at 3 gallons per minute. The motor is really designed for slow continuous pumping into a non pressurized holding tank. From there you do what you want with the water. Good for watering livestock or producing water for several households. A small DC pump can then send the water where it is needed. The system is very flexible.

Sure, as Plan A. But a smarter Plan B would be to pump water with a Wind Vane, and store it in an Attick Tank. Where it's hidden, safe & secure. And the fill rate is slow & steady. Bonus: No extra pump is needed, as Mother Gravity does the work to keep the taps running
CD
My static water level (not submersible pump) is around 95 feet deep. The drop pipe and lower pump feeding the upper assembly extends 40 feet lower than that to assure I have plenty of water if the static water level varies. Total cost with shipping was around $1,850. If your static water level is higher, the cost will be lower because less pipe is involved. It works great and gives me all the water I need. I can pump it directly into my home's pressure tank in the basement and from there throughout the plumbing system. We were concerned about a long term power outage. Our backup generator will only last 3 weeks, depending upon how much propane is in the tank when it all goes down. I built the solar panel system large enough to run the submersible pump, but it draws a lot of current and wouldn't pump for very long before exhausting the batteries. Any backup plan should be lower tech than what you are backing up. Obviously the solar panels are not lower tech. So we went with the Simple Pump.
Even better. I used the optional pitless adapter and connected the Simple Pump directly into the underground submersible pump water line running to the house using check valves to prevent backflow. If power goes down and I need water, I just go out to the pump, hand pump it for about two minutes (it pumps about 5 gallons per minute) then go inside and turn on the tap or flush the toilet. Works great and it is easy enough to pump that Mrs. Cog can also pump water when needed.
I carefully considered this. Our hydrant is only 30 feet from the well, so it would have just been a short run from well to hydrant. BUT we have freezing temperatures up here on the mountain for 4-5 months of the years. I did not want to deal with a frozen food grade hose. So after using the pump, if I wasn't going to continue pumping for the next few hours, I would have to roll up the hose, then roll it back out when I needed the pump again. If only used a few times, it would be no big deal. But during a long term power outage it would quickly become a big pain in the butt. Plus all that handling increased the wear and tear on the hose, particularly when the hose is very cold from the freezing temps. Those in a warmer climate don't have this issue.
