Hungary wants Schenge Area Countries to Control Greek-Turkish border

Hungary points out that the Schengen Area is ONLY going to work, if the members of the Schengen Area work together to implement real border controls on the external borders of the Schengen Area - like the Greek-Turkish border, and that the other countries of the Schengen Area, including Greece and Germany, are not doing their part to protect external Schengen Area borders.

Turkey is not a member of the Schengen Area, nor is Turkey a Schengen Treaty member country, yet Greece abd Germany and others refuse to control the external border between Greece and Turkey. The Greek and Turkish border is where the vast majority of all Illegal Immigrants are first entering the Schengen Area.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, so often the target for building border fences that diverted the flow of refugees to other nations, simply said “Hungary is not on the route anymore, so we are just observers here.” Then he lashed into measures other EU nations had already taken, especially those belonging to the Schengen passport-free border zone.

“The no. 1 source of the crisis is that members of the European Union, and especially those who are members of Schengen treaty, are not able, or are not ready to keep their word,” Orban declared.
