The fall of a formerly great (euro/white, christian) civilization is quite obviously on the basis of what shoshin is saying, which is ironic. The incompetent and formerly powerless increase the chaos when handed the positions of esteem and power. Why? They themselves can't believe what is going on (they gave us the power?) and they have to get the gettin' while the gettin's good. Traditional societies found this out long ago when they allowed women to ascend into positions of power. An uncomfortable reality for the modern (propagandized) person, but true nonetheless (see Sir John Glubb for numerous examples in the "Fate of Empires").
In Cursed Days (Окаянные дни, Okayánnye Dni), a book by Nobel Prize-winning Russian author Ivan Bunin, he talks about this exact point. The Bolsheviks, numbering 100,000, at best, could NOT believe they had been given control of the country. The Reds were incredulous. The average Czarist just gave up.

America has given their civilization to the uncivilized.

Escape if you can.

The so called kitchen table issues are not a flaw in US civilization or culture. The government is supposed to “promote the general Welfare” as the Constitutions preamble states. A crisis gets rid of flaws. Insurrection, bad cops, spree killing, criminals in high place, prejudice, gerrymandering, election denial and the other behaviors of the MAGA crowd are flaws. If the Republicans continue to push flaws while ignoring helping the people, they will suffer the fate of past conservative movements and fade from history.

I imagine seeing your values rejected and replaced is not easy, but examine your values sincerely.

What? Helping the people is a flaw while criminals in high places is a feature? Just wait a bit for the collapses to run their course.

Yes, the culling is coming, sadly.

The USA will survive far longer than other nations. It is still one of the best places to be. The dollar is, and will remain, the strongest of the fiat currencies. It won't face food shortages that result in famine even in wartime.

There is really no where else to go for Americans anyway. Wherever you would "flee" to, you would be a foreigner. And you don't want to be a foreigner (who doesn't have command of the language btw) when law and order break down in the place you fled to.

I have a VERY bad feeling about those "spy balloon" reports...

EDIT: Apparently this has happened before. Multiple times.

I suspect China may attack sooner rather than later. I hear a lot of talk in the media about 50 year plans, 100 year plans, and this is touted as: "See, China's so much more intelligent than we are!" Thing is, though, the short-term has a way of negating the long-term. How many people can claim their lives went exactly as planned, even those who succeeded?

Time's not on China's side for multiple reasons, one of the biggest among them being their one-child policy. The CCP has officially admitted that their population shrunk last year, several years before predicted. Frankly, if this is something they're coming out with, I'd bet on China's population shrinking for at least several years. Their actual fertility rate is often estimated at around 1.2, sometimes even lower, similar to what's happened to Japan. The difference is: Japan became rich before they got old. China's getting old before they get rich. Already their median age is higher than that of the United States and unlike western countries, they can't count on immigration to bolster the number of workers.

However horrible our debt situation is, China's is over 300% of their GDP and growing. Nor can they grow out of it; the days of 10-12% annual growth are over, much as CCP Nationalists loved to claim their economy would skyrocket forever.

We're building up our military forces in the Pacific, Japan's beginning a military buildup, South Korea's talking about building nuclear weapons, and now we're even forming closer ties with India. So they're going to have to contend with enemies to their west and east.

War games have China push us out of the South China Sea and away from Taiwan, but the point of these war games is to prevent such things from happening in real life. They've made impressive efforts at modernization, but we don't know how effective their military would be on the battlefield. Their so-called "carrier killer" missiles have to hunt down a moving target, blast through our defenses, and do this with F-35s, B-2s, and satellites hunting down their launchers.

Russia was supposed to have the second strongest military in the world. Almost every analyst believed that Ukraine would be crushed in a matter of weeks, if not days, in a Russian Desert Storm. Instead, the war's dragged on for close to a year, with Russia forced to resort to 60-year-old tanks and mass mobilization to keep from losing all their captured territory. Before the invasion, I questioned how well their military would perform, but I still didn't think they'd start running out of supplies on day 3. Nor did I anticipate the U.S. supporting them to the degree we have.

I suspect China would perform better, largely due to having the second largest economy in the world. Russia's GDP is only slightly bigger than Mexico. However, they're plagued with demographic problems, hostile neighbors, and a stagnating economy. Our defenses are improving, the quantity of our forces in the Pacific are growing, and our military-industrial complex is beginning to ramp up, thanks to aiding Ukraine. Their allies in their region amount to two basket cases who can't offer much beyond cannon fodder.

One reason Japan attacked when they did, outside the oil embargo, is the realization they were as strong as they were ever going to be with respect to the United States. We were matching their production despite not being in a true wartime economy and Japan couldn't hope to match our industry. China's facing a world that's grown hostile to it, on top of all the other issues I mentioned above. India's going to continue modernizing, as are Japan and South Korea. It doesn't even have to be a major incident for things to spiral into war, the most infamous example being World War I.

Crazy as this sounds, who would have imagined in 1914 the tragedy that was amount to befall Europe, one I'd argue they never truly recovered from?
