** 22-May-2022 World View: Non-Crisis Sunday

It appears that there are no crises today:
  • The biggest international news is the Australia election, with
the winner promising to tackle climate change.
  • The Russians have apparently captured Mariupol, so troops on both
sides are spending their time repositioning.
  • Joe Biden is in Asia, having friendly chats with politicians in
    South Korea and Japan.
  • The stock market is closed on Sunday (until Sunday evening ET in
Asia), and so there's no immediate financial crisis.
  • Sri Lanka, which is close to total economic collapse and disaster,
has been given a temporary reprieve by India and the World
    Bank.

So tomorrow it all collapses. :D

Looking good ... for now. I don't see how anyone is saying there isn't already an obvious recession.

It's not coming, it is here. Nothing will change that. What are the parameters that people "count" though? GDP? Unemployment? Both?

Luongo had a good article recently about how GDP is BS and it's more like gross national spending, which may or may not mean much

** 24-May-2022 World View: Today's News

Here are today's news stories:
  • A hacker has obtained a huge trove of documents from a
Xinjiang China server, showing how millions of Uighurs are being
enslaved, tortured and killed in one of the worst genocides since the
    WW II Holocaust.
  • The Russians are increasing their targeting and slaughter of
innocent woman and children in the Donbas, for the worst Ukrainian
genocide since the Holomodor of the 1930s.
  • A shooter, Salvador Ramos, slaughtered 18 children and one teacher
in a mass shooting in an elementary school in Texas.
  • The shooter who killed a hedge fund manager innocently riding the
subway in New York was taken into custody today. The shooter had been
arrested 19 times before, but was out on the street because NYC's
policy is to release prisoners from jail immediately. Not mentioned
is that the shooting fits a common pattern, where a black shooter
    kills a Latino.
  • A plot was revealed where an Iraqi asylum seeker was helping
illegal aliens come in through the southern border, to carry out a
plot to kill George W. Bush in revenge for the Iraqi war.
  • An illegal alien and suspected terrorist, Isnardo Garcia-Amado,
35, was released into the country on April 11, however ICE did not
receive authorization to re-arrest him until May 4.
  • Dozens of young blacks are slaughtered in the streets of Chicago
and other Democrat-governed cities every weekend, and nobody
    cares.
I've become sooooo cynical about death. Higgie once said we'd
reach a time where the living will envy the dead. I've
definitly reached that point, and I know other people who have
reached the same conclusion.

I don't "envy" the dead, John, but I sure am glad I have no immediate family to care and provide for (while having an extended family to love and help me).

John, do you think my prediction that the (R) win resoundingly in November, and then we are set for a larger hot war in 2023 will be the case?

Also, are people truly not aware of the broadcasting of disgusting stuff from this gay spokesman? Check it out. He has said or indicated many times what the plan is for the unwashed masses. Perhaps drowning is their plan, as he suggests in this video.

Democrats are trying to turn the midterm elections into a referendum
on Trump, while Republicans are making it a referendum on Biden.
However, neither strategy may be relevant. There is no single midterm
election. It's actually a collection of hundreds of local elections,
at the district and state level, and results will be determined by
local policies rather than the Trump/Biden issue. For that, the
Democrats are at a disadvantage because of issues like sky-high gas
and food prices, which affect all the local elections. Both
Republican and Democratic strategists are predicting that the House
will flip from Democrat to Republican, but it's unclear what will
happen in the Senate.

Most analysts are predicting that China will invade Taiwan at some
point, although the timeline for these predictions has been varying
widely as a result of Russia's debacle in Ukraine, and everyone in
China and the West is trying to benefit from lessons learned. Some
analysts are predicting that the invasion will occur after the
Communist Party convention in November, which would probably mean a
hot war in 2023.

However, there is a huge geopolitical issue overshadowing everything.
There is the expectation of massive famines in multiple countries
during the summer and fall, because Ukraine is breadbasket of much of
the world, and Russia has blocked all the ports, preventing exports of
Ukraine crops. One possibility is an international flotilla of
warships converging on the port of Odessa, and protecting ships
carrying crops from the Russans. So famines could result in a hot war
this year, and the international flotilla could result in a hot war.

As for Yuval Harari, he's a total nutcase, just like you're a total
nutcase.
