Here is the cold calculus of the Wagner Group on basic infantry tactics. Some colleagues wondered if they will go “Persian Mullah,” soon, but I stated that the prisons may be emptied out and there will be no leadership to train the new “recruits”: https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1621 ... 75426.html
Putin and his team are starting psychological operations for the home front to justify the casualties and get more recruits. This is starting to look like a history class project: https://www.themoscowtimes.com/2023/01/ ... ort-a80091

It doesn't even have to be a major incident for things to spiral into war, the most infamous example being World War I.

Crazy as this sounds, who would have imagined in 1914 the tragedy that was amount to befall Europe, one I'd argue they never truly recovered from?
It's funny that this is the proof that makes demographics irrelevant: war. What else makes demographics irrelevant? The same people who fund all the wars, the global elite, whose plan is always depop and technocracy.

Gay boys like Zeihan (always the perfect useful tool of the elites, since they have no investment in the future by definition) look at replacement rates via foreigners into countries like the US or Europe, which means they've already collapsed. This is by far the dumbest part of their materialist analysis. The countries are already long gone in any meaningful way that a country can be defined.

Everyone on the board knows this. If you're old and you just want to ride into the sunset, that's fine, but stop talking about "Europe" and "America" as if it's some meaningful thing for anyone younger than 60 years old at this point. They are unrecognizable jokes for anyone looking for a future.

well, well, well. The Chinese communists communists are sending a huge spy balloon , bristling with spy equipment, over the United States, and the biden administration is doing nothing about it. The Pentagon has been following it since it left China, flew over Japan, flew over Alaska, flew over Canada, and now is traveling from military base to military base, vacuuming up intelligence and information, and transmitting it back to the Chinese military.

Trudeau didn't do anything about it, since he admires China. Biden isn't doing anything about it since he and hunter have sold out to China. Trump, of course , would have shot it down as soon as it crossed the American border.

as things stand, the Chinese Communists are making a fool out of the Biden administration and the American people.

to many army generals in the communist Chinese military, this will be additional proof of American weakness, and will lead more quickly to World War III.

as Trevor's recent analysis has shown, China is running out of time . this event was China baiting the United States, and will cause China's generals to recommend quicker action in invading, Taiwan .

Do you think they were testing people to shoot it down in order to cause more chaos (when it exploded) and/or to have an excuse to start a war, or at least be more belligerent?

The world is getting very, very bizarre. When it comes to geopolitics and the financial system I think the people buying stocks in this FOMO run are in for a rude awakening much sooner than later.

I haven’t seen much discussion on the Ukraine war lately. So I thought I would throw a few things out there.

The masses that Russia mobilized months ago are actually being trained. Belorussia is probably going to join the fight, and the Russians/Belarusians will probably open another front aimed at the Ukrainian supply lines which go from Poland towards Lviv. Hopefully the Ukrainians can stop this, and the war will continue in a stalemate.

If the Russians break through and cause a Ukrainian collapse, they are not going to demobilize their Army. We have already made them feel as though it is them versus all of NATO. If the Ukraine ceases major resistance, they will go for Moldova (which could trigger a Romanian non-NATO involvement) and then the Baltic States.

If it gets that far, NATO is going to completely fracture. Germans have already shown they have no desire to fight the Russians. Neither do the Turks (who want to fight the Greeks), the Hungarians, the Croatians, the Slovaks, the Italians, the Spanish, the Dutch & Belgians, the Portuguese.

This is all going to get complicated by developing situations in Asia and the World Economy.
Most of the Russian called up in September have received little training. Much of the training cadre was itself sent into the meatgrinder. And there have been many, many reports of how ill equipped these new troops are along with continued reports of how Russia has lost both its best trained and professional soldiers and much of the best of its equipment. A good portion of what it has left needs to be held in case it is needed to defend Russia itself. Increasingly it is old and obsolete materiel being used such as breaking out T-62 tanks (50-60 years old) and using S-300 missiles are vaguely guided missiles.

Belarus is very unlikely to join the war for two reasons: 1. It's very possible the army may refuse; 2. if the army does fight there is no one to keep Lukashenko in power. Lukashenko knows this.

Increased success in Ukraine would lead to increased weapons transfers. Poland in particular would be very likely to give more stuff and try to speed up deliveries of all the arms it has purchased. For instance, it could ask the US to loan it older M1s while it waits for the ones building and could do the same with K2s from South Korea. It also may decide to hand over the MiG-29s it still has. In the event that Russia WAS able to conquer Ukraine, it would be exhausted militarily. Russia is not the old Soviet Union and is already pushing the limits of its capabilities and will be feeling the effects of sanctions increasingly as time goes on. At the same time European countries would increasingly see the danger and be willing to take a stand. They may not want a new world war, but they do still remember what happened in the last one.

America has given their civilization to the uncivilized.

Escape if you can.
The so called kitchen table issues are not a flaw in US civilization or culture. The government is supposed to “promote the general Welfare” as the Constitutions preamble states. A crisis gets rid of flaws. Insurrection, bad cops, spree killing, criminals in high place, prejudice, gerrymandering, election denial and the other behaviors of the MAGA crowd are flaws. If the Republicans continue to push flaws while ignoring helping the people, they will suffer the fate of past conservative movements and fade from history.

I imagine seeing your values rejected and replaced is not easy, but examine your values sincerely.
Bob, you seem to have a very selective blindness. You see all the "flaws" of the right but none of the left. In the case of Memphis, it has been reported that the city government lowered their standards for new hires in order to achieve certain racial targets and all the police charged were hired under those lowered standards. The city government of Memphis is not run by Republicans. Similarly the Floyd death happened not in a Republican run city but in one that has not had a Republican mayor (or city councilor) since about 1960. It's the home district of Ilhan Omar. I make no pretense of all Republicans being great people and also having the right answers, but it seems that the majority of the big problems are happening in areas were Republicans and other conservatives have no control at all. That would seem to indicate that it isn't Republicans causing the problems.

At least if you use logic. Perhaps you use something else.

Yes, the Biden administration has looked quite inept. In fairness, these types of balloons are rather hard to shoot down. They're really big with only a very thin membrane and a low pressure differential. There's nothing to set off a missile and cannon shells will only poke a small hole that may cause the balloon to deflate days to weeks later. Trying to shot it down and failing could be more embarrassing than letting it float by.

Canada has even less ability to do anything than the US which at least has fighters able to fly high enough to shoot at it. Canada is really an American protectorate, but we're too polite to actually say that and allow them to pretend otherwise. After all, we do like that maple syrup.

I've been watching CNN this morning, and a couple of the anchors said something that seem to me a hint that the balloon will be shot down today .
