** 17-May-2022 World View: Great Leap Forward and One Child Policy
of policy than Mao's Great Leap Forward.
The Great Leap Forward was engineered by one fanatical dictator who
executed or jailed anyone who dared to tell him that it was failing.
The policy killed tens of millions of innocent Chinese, through
starvation and execution, and the policy had to be reversed within a
couple of years.
The One Child policy was quite different. It was not engineered by
one crazy dictator. It was a consensus policy of the entire Chinese
Communist government, based on fear of overpopulation. The policy
lasted a lot more than two years -- more like 35 years.
Interestingly enough, the Great Leap Forward and the One Child Policy
had in common a shared objective. China's history is filled with
famines and rebellions, and both policies sought to make sure that
there was enough food for everyone.
The Great Leap Forward was a disaster of historic proportions,
possibly the greatest disaster of any country in the history of the
world.
But the One Child Policy was arguably successful, since it kept the
population down, and thus prevented overpopulation and famine.
However now, 40 years later, it's proven to be a demographic disaster.
We know from our previous discussions about the Chi Haotian's 2003
speech, the concerns about overpopulation and famine are still front
and center.

Haotian's plan is to defaeat the United States, then use biological
weapons to "clean" the American land by killing everyone, so that the
Chinese people can expand into that land. That plan is completely
delusional, but so was the Great Leap Forward. If Haotian's plan is
attempted, it will be another example of something engineered by a
fanatical dictator, Xi Jinping, and will be completely disastrous not
just for China, but for the entire world.
The One Child policy was certainly stupid, but it was a different kindCool Breeze wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 8:56 pm> Where would the One Child policy fit into this? A breathtakingly

Putin taking control of his army reminds me of the Czar's actions in the First World War. After disasters on the Eastern front, he took personal command, meaning that he ended up receiving the blame for many of their subsequent disasters, adding pressure to the revolution. He's got to know that should anything go badly, he'll be lucky to escape with his life, let alone his position.

The Turkish play here and logic is going to be quite effective, in the short term, because it makes sense and puts the West and NATO in a bit of a quandary.
