Western leaders do not get out of a mess by starting a war. It gets them into a bigger mess.

I cannot really speak to Boris, but Biden and his administration will do almost anything to avoid a war anywhere. The Biden administrations incompetence in the area of foreign affairs/military was on Full Display in Kabul Afghanistan just a few months ago.
Tom Hanks pathetic effort at “Saving President Brandon “ actually brought home to the West exactly the devastation that the democrats are about bring down on middle and lower classes.
Even multi millionaire Anderson Cooper allowed slight criticism of Biden on his far left television show recently.
Both Russia and China know this is an opportunity too good to miss.
Biden has already succeeded in making Jimmy Carter's presidency look good.
And now he's well on the way to persuading large numbers of phobic anti-Trumpers that, perhaps, they should have voted differently at the last presidential election.
The appeal or rejection of personality in politics fades quite quickly. Actual progress - or failure - is what they public continues to remember. And by that yardstick, Trump's undoubted achievements contrast all too vividly with Biden's failures.

Trump had only one major fault as president: the media hated him.

I think Trump had some major other flaws, but appearing weak to potential foreign enemies was not really one of them.

If it hadn't been for the wrong bat meeting the wrong pangolin (or whatever) in Wuhan in 2019 Trump would be POTUS now.

Imagine being in the armed services today knowing that Mark Miley is the top commander. The debacle ahead will be world class and one the history books will never forget.

If it is bad enough there might not be any history books.

If there are any history books in the future, they will point out that while Russia and China were busy destroying civilization, the ridiculous General Miley had been busy hunting down white supremacist in the pot holed streets of a heavily dilapidation America...

I did. That's what destroys civilization and good people.
