Yeah,.. that'd be nifty, I suppose.

..but it ain't gonna happen, because the "cyber-ecosystem" isn't "fertile" enough (and most likely never will be) to allow the necessary "meta-learning" to happen.

Give it a few handfuls of years, and it may be, though. We'll see. :)

handful = 5?
few = SQRT(10) ~3?
So about 15 years?

I'd go with 58 years (using the infamous "Rulers/People/Societies are weak after 58 Years" rule) IF (big if) the "cyber-ecosystem" isn't massively destroyed and is on the mend a "couple", or "short handful", of years after the War.

..let's see, that would be 2021+58=2079.

And it'll happen on June 6, 2079,.. due to the SQL-Server smalldatetime Field Wraparound Crisis™.

..all hail SQynet!

Excellent short story in Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact for Nov-Dec 2018.
Body Drift by Cynthia Ward.
It is a Homage to Frederik Pohl's "Day Million".
Great depiction of post-Singularity life.
