As a final footnote, investors should also be mindful of the calendar. August and September have historically been the weakest two months for S&P 500 performance based on data going back to 1950. In other words, we are presently in choppy, volatile times for the capital markets; this too shall pass.

I once watched an economist being interviewed. The interviewer asked if there was a recession coming. The economist replied" There is always a recession coming."
He was also asked what the stock market would do and replied "Fluctuate."
