Re: Financial topics

The Nuer call something similar the "money of shit."

Perhaps an expletive is warranted at this stage!

Re: Financial topics

If you want to do compare historical analyses, then comparative history is valid ONLY during comparable generational eras. Today we're still in what one person calls the "post-unraveling era," where the crisis era has technically begun, but the regeneracy hasn't occurred. Eras before and after the ...

Re: Geopolitical topics

How do people think the war will be fought? Massive thermonuclear/small nuclear then conventional/conventional with frequent use of nukes...? It's pretty much a given that nukes are going to be used somewhere (the most likely candidate is India/Pakistan), but the majority of fighting is going to be...

Re: Ron Paul

This is what I am attempting to do via my new website, futronomics.blogspot.com - socioeconomics are one of the sciences I focus on and I use a generational theory perspective when doing so. Ever since reading "The Fourth Turning" a few years ago, my eyes have been opened up not to just the last fe...

Re: Ron Paul

As an aside, I think it's impossible to separate politics from theory. Or rather, one shouldn't separate the two after acquiring knowledge of generational theory.

Re: Ron Paul

I am interested in knowing what people who visit this website think about Ron Paul, his Campaign for Liberty and Libertarianism in general. He has been correct in predicting a lot of the current problems we are having. I know John believes that this crisis was inevitable, regardless of politics, an...

Re: Inflation, deflation, gold and currencies

While there's some emotional satisfaction in saving pennies for their copper content, I don't think that realistically it will ever really be worth your time. As our currency's value falls to zero, copper pennies will nominally be worth a lot more than a penny but their buying power will probably n...

War with China?

In light of recent events, it appears that a financial crisis is going to catalyze the regeneracy phase of the 4T for most countries. With this in mind, I find it hard to believe that a war with China is anywhere near certain. The country is a basket case: its leaders are paranoid, the populace is r...

Re: Welcome to the Generational Dynamics Forum!

I found this site in late 2004 after cruising around the fourthturning.com forums. My username was michaeleaston. Although I don't post there anymore (don't have much to add at this point and it can get a bit hectic over there), I still lurk at TFT daily. Together with a few others (especially '1990...
