Re: Financial topics
I'm not going to get much sleep tonight. John John, You really need to find a better frame of mind. I know things are bad, but your a smart guy and your as ready for it as anyone. As important as seeing the problem coming is finding a way to live and be happy even when things are not as we wish the...

Pirates are Bad!
There shouldn't be pirates because they're bad. I don't understand how they get off the ship, but it seems like a big effort should be made to track them down and publicly kill them to discourage others from following their example. If we let pirates take over major oil tankers its just a matter of ...

Re: Financial topics
It seems the market is an unstable system in both directions. I suspect if a power spectral density (PSD) analysis was performed one would find a divergence in progress. This massive upswing has to be terrified shorts, the opposite side of the terrified longs. The shorts are more active than the lon...

Re: Financial topics
Dear Isaac, > So if a dollar collapse is not what happens when the US defaults > on its loans, what does happen? . What do you mean by "dollar collapse"? Hyperinflation? If so, then which of the above three categories of money would you expect to hyperinflate? Sincerely, John OK then what does happ...

Re: Financial topics
So if a dollar collapse is not what happens when the US defaults on its loans, what does happen? If the dollar is only backed by faith in the US government and the US government defaults, wouldn't that make people reluctant to take US dollars? No one wants Iceland's currency right now for example an...

Re: Financial topics
So in theory, holding cash should be better than holding gold? I mean the green money kind of cash that is hidden in a very safe place that isn't a bank.

Re: Financial topics
John, Do you still think that we will experience deflation (our money can buy more), or has that changed now that the government is committed to printing as much money as neccessary to cover any and all bad debt? My small mind thinks that would tend to devalue the currency and lead to inflation, and...

Re: A 4T Narrative (2009-2020?)
I think one trend we may see is a consolidation of power in which governments begin to merge like large corporations. I think a North American Union is in the cards. There will be fewer currencies and more international regulation of trade. I think there will be a significant clash between islamics ...

Re: North Korea
I don't think North Korea wants to fight a war. I think they just want to be relevant somehow, and be able to keep the poplulation under control. With a starving population and nuclear weapons, mistakes could certainly be made that would result in war. Missing in North Korea is the fanatical ideolog...
