Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
External is definitely still possible, but I think there has to be a traumatic experience to bring people back together. It will happen one way or the other and I don't know if one or the other is better (or just as likely, a mix of both).

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Charlie Kirk's death going over badly in younger conservative circles. I don't think this is the fuse, but anger is mounting all around in society.

Re: John's Passing
I just saw this now. John's work greatly effected how I see the world and I miss reading his columns. He was incredibly insightful and ahead of his time. I am sorry for your loss.

Re: Religion and Vaccine Arguments
I am not any kind of expert on it, but the COVID ones are the main ones I have an issue with. They short-circuited every usual safety protocol and the reported issues are enough that would have easily gotten any drug in the past taken off. Most childhood ones have some risk, but seem to be worth it ...

Re: Religion and Vaccine Arguments
Karl Denninger has had a good write up on a lot of COVID stuff. Right now, he is concerned we could be seeing early signs of VEI (Vaccine Enhanced Infection). Not enough data to say for sure (we don't record it) and it may not become part of a dominant strain, but if so, it is going to be a problem ...

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Are there still majority Russian areas in the Ukraine border states that are still under Ukrainian government control?
My guess is Russia tries to annex the full Russian majority regions, but draws the line there (this would make the 3rd time Putin has done something like that). I know a good ...

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
One final note, herd immunity does not mean we get zero cases, but does mean numbers cant pick up at same rate. We'll get spikes here and there as they hit previously untouched places, but we gradually decline at that point.
It becomes an issue again if we get mutations (which we probably will ...

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
Sweden appears to have hit herd immunity. The press is poo pooing it, but cases have collapsed despite more testing and they never shut down (although did take some actions). That is really hard to explain any other way. Karl Denninger of Market Ticker thinks we are a few weeks behind and I'm ...

Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
On the 3%, I think that will prove to be a underestimation. When they did random antibody tests in different places in the US and elsewhere in April and May, we were getting at least 10x as many people infected as official totals everywhere, sometimes far more. I suspect that has probably decreased ...
