Re: "Generation Zero - The Inconceivable Truth" - the movie
Well said John on that 5-Apr-2010 posting. It really makes a lot of sense to me. Nick Guarino and you have pretty much similar future outlook which I don't see anyone else really comes close to that outlook which I pretty much agree with. Mish Shedlock have similar view as this but at somewhat ...

Well said, John!
Nick said the same thing about CDS and those derivatives for years and how we would face not just deflation, but hyper-deflation.

Re: 12-Mar-10 News-Mideast peace talks collapse in humiliation
It seems very few people .. especially (and maybe only) the idiots in Washington., have learned a damn thing the past few years.
Sooner or later (more likely sooner) they are going to learn that there is no such thing as a free lunch. They will have to let TBTF to go fail in order not to burn ...

Re: Short ETF
To me, it is a lot easier to trade on (longer term) fundamentals than short term trading based on momentum.
It is true that Greg said that 90% of short term traders lose money. Some say 80%. But for sure it is at least 80%.
I did tried to dabble on short term trading, but it is very difficult to ...

Very good posting, esp the Warren part (Obama talking to Rev Guard is interesting and it does make sense).
We definitely need to have more Warrens around!

What is the final actual 2009 SP500 GAAP earnings? I could not find that info on google. The earnings season should be over by now so we should have that number by now.

Forgot to add, I think long dated Treasuries (i.e. 20 and 30 year T-Bonds) as well Zero Coupons are very good buys as the long term rates will come down as we sink deeper into secular depression. Also it will be good for our govt to be able to roll over the debt into longer dated Treasuries at very ...

Re: President Barack Obama
If you want to reduce health care costs, then the only way to do it is to increase the supply of health care services -- more doctors, nurses, hospitals and equipment. Obama's health care proposal does the opposite. But once the Clash of Civilizations world war is over, in 5-10 years, then ...
