Re: Financial topics

I wanted to pose this question as I am trying to run through scenarios in my mind... If we are in the process of unwinding multi-trillion dollar (globally intertwined) derivatives market (which is obvious) and the dollar is the world's reserve currency...meaning all of these unwinding toxic-assets n...

Re: Financial topics

I don't know...the more I do the math (realizing the dollar as the world currency-meaning all these positions are tied up with dollars) I see the dollar (ST TReasuries) as the only thing left "to fight" with. I mean I own gold but the gold market is puny in comparison. Personally, I am a holder of S...

Re: Financial topics

People criticize me for saying that these "experts" are morons, but I just can't think of a better description. Sincerely, John Now that was funny! I mean I have to agree....I remember the calls for trillion dollar market caps...The same experts now call a 40% erosion of the world's assets inflatio...

Re: Financial topics

I think it has a long way to go as well...This economic contraction
globally is already bigger than the 1890's or 1930's as measured by
asset losses as a percentage of GDP. This is the biggest economic
event in human history; and just beginning. Of course, the last part my opinion

Re: Inflation, deflation, gold and currencies

My reason for owning gold isn't in hopes of a tanking US Dollar.... I have a different reason for holding gold... I see gold simply as a system or SHTF hedge. If that ever came to be, yes we may be in an inflationary period. I do not see the US Dollar going away any time soon, but I realize there is...

Re: Defensive Interpretation on GD?

It still seems like for now we are losing more than we are creating and the net points to deflation. Dollars are disappearing faster than they are being put into the system and so the dollar rises. While there are many different interpretations on how this applies across (M1, 2 3) it seems like Cent...

Re: Financial topics

There aren't many places to go for growth unless you put a chart upside down (EG Short)

I am more than happy to get off the road here with my boring T Bills, Gld Silver Eagles, and 10% SDS on bounces.

That seems too simple but I really believe it a good formula for the time being.
