Why did Obama vote against the Iraq war in 2002, anyway? Saddam
Hussein had tried to build nuclear weapons, had used WMDs (poison gas)
against the Kurds and against Iran, was refusing inspections, was
suspected of continuing to develop new WMDs.
So why did Obama vote against the war? I can't recall ever hearing an
explanation. And surely someone who can't do 7th grade math can't
have a credible opinion about what Saddam was actually doing. So
there must have been some other reason.
We know why Chirac opposed the war. It later turned out Chirac's
family was receiving millions of dollars in the oil for food program.
So Chirac really didn't care if Saddam killed millions of people with
WMDs, as long as Chirac got his money.
So why did Obama oppose the war? It wasn't for money, so I think it
has something to do with his mentor, the Reverend Wright. For 20
years he sat at the feet of Reverend Wright, listening to him scream,
"God DAMN America! God DAMN America! God DAMN America!"
So I think Obama was just doing what Reverend Wright told him to do.
Obama wouldn't have cared if thousands of people had died from
Saddam's WMDs, in excrutiating pain as blood poured out of their eyes,
ears and nose. But, to Obama and Reverend Wright, none of that was as
evil as America. So Obama voted against the war.
And we know Obama was violently against the "surge" in 2007. He was
dead wrong about that. But he made it clear that he would never
support any American military action in Iraq.
He campaigned that he would evacuate Americans from Iraq, and he did
exactly what he promised. No one can claim that he didn't keep that
campaign promise. He never had any intention of doing otherwise, no
matter what the conditions. Later, as it turned out that one policy
after another turned to disaster, he made up excuses, always blaming
Bush.
So now Obama is blaming Bush for ISIS. Why doesn't he blame Clinton
for ISIS? After all, Clinton was bombing Iraq for years, while Osama
bin Laden was looking on, planning terror attacks. Or blame Bush the
father for ISIS, because of the first Gulf War. Or blame Henry
Kissinger, for supporting the Shah prior to 1979.
Blaming Bush for ISIS is the height of cuteness, given that ISIS began
in Syria, not Iraq. But even if it were true, it doesn't excuse
Obama. Obama promised total withdrawal from Iraq, and he delivered on
that promise. That was his decision, irrespective of how ISIS arrived
in Iraq, and now Obama has to suffer the humiliation of seeing one
policy after another turn to shit.
Obama is a man who hates America and hates American values. I've
described this in guarded terms by pointing out that he's the first
president in history to repudiate the Truman Doctrine. But the Truman
Doctrine has served the world well, and the world has been turning to
shit since he repudiated the Truman Doctrine.
And then there's John Kerry, the man who told the world that American
soldiers were as bad as Nazis, and reaffirmed this opinion in 2006.
Probably nothing expresses Obama's contempt for America and American
values than elevating this clown to Secretary of State. And he's
gotten what he deserved -- Kerry and Obama look like idiots to much of
the world, as they stumble from one irrational move to another.
Bush is not "my hero," but I understand his motives. He believed that
Saddam was developing WMDs, and it was America's role under the Truman
Doctrine to prevent him from using them. You can argue whether his
was the best policy, but you can't argue about his motives. His
decisions reflect America's role and America's destiny.
In Obama, I see no motives except hatred for America and American
values, including the Truman Doctrine. Every time Obama opens his
mouth, what I hear him screaming is: "God DAMN America! God DAMN
America! God DAMN America!"
