Interesting that you are bringing that up. To the best of my recollection, I first mentioned plastics about 10 years ago, saying the degradation of plastics into fine particles is an example of a problem that probably can't be solved by AI. Now AI hype is at a crescendo and I just read yesterday that for the first time a material balance has been done to determine the amount of nanoplastics in the world's oceans and the estimate is 27 million tons. Looking further, I guess that's just the amount estimated to be in the North Atlantic ocean.

No, she would have governed like Lincoln's dog Fido.
Haha. Perhaps more like a teenager in rebellious phase.

You said once that the use and proliferation of plastics was a mistake and it seems the chemical industry has done well but we and our proginy will surely suffer for several generations. As we will from the massive amount of nuclear materials soon to be spread upon the earth. Sadly the apocalyptic sci-fi films including Mad Max keep seeming more realistic as we descend into chaos. I hope John was wrong about the severity but it's not looking good. I'm still not sure if God is holding back his wrath or that it's coming and it's not something that we can avoid but rather need to accept.

According to this, real worldwide food prices have been taking a bumpy ride higher for about the past 25 years. That looks set to continue or maybe even accelerate.

This Martin Armstrong interview was the most informative I've heard from him maybe ever. Looks like huge change is upon us. We knew it was coming and that it was getting closer.

From the maintenance phase of a declining civilization files.
Vice President JD Vance launched a withering critique of Microsoft on Wednesday, accusing the tech giant of letting go of American workers while relying heavily on immigrant labor through the H-1B visa program.

Speaking at a bipartisan event co-hosted by the Hill and Valley Forum, Vance questioned the ethics and economic logic behind mass layoffs followed by increased applications for employment-based visas.

"You see some big tech companies where they'll lay off 9,000 workers, and then they'll apply for a bunch of overseas visas. And I sort of wonder; that doesn't totally make sense to me.

"That displacement and that math worries me a bit. And what the president has said, he said very clearly: We want the very best and the brightest to make America their home. We want them to build great companies and so forth. But I don't want companies to fire 9,000 American workers and then to go and say, 'We can't find workers here in America.' That's a bullshit story."

This has been happening since, oh, about 1971 when the maintenance phase of a declining civilization began (about the time Microsoft was founded in 1975 - coincidence?). There are several available solutions, but preening on the plank before plunging into a dark age isn't about solutions.

Barack Obama’s office said Trump’s ‘bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction’.

Good morning.

Barack Obama has broken his silence on Donald Trump’s calls to prosecute him, unequivocally rejecting his successor’s accusations that he tried to engineer a “coup” after Trump’s 2016 election victory by “manufacturing” evidence of Russian interference.

Obama’s office took the unusual step of issuing an emphatic refutation after Trump told reporters his predecessor had tried to “lead a coup” against him and was guilty of “treason” over intelligence assessments suggesting that Russia had intervened to help defeat Hillary Clinton in the campaign.

“Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response,” the statement said. “But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.”

What else did the statement say? It went on to criticize claims made in an 11-page document released last week by Tulsi Gabbard, the director of national intelligence. It said: “Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan senate Intelligence Committee, led by then Chairman Marco Rubio.”
