I can agree with much of what Navigator says about immigrants only bringing in immediate family, and both parties having questionable motivations, but lining up a job when not in country would be hard. How would that work?

Tariffs would not be working as intended. They are not supposed to be issued for economic reasons. I would not be shocked by the courts shooting them down. Yes, the result would be ugly. Trump has turned international trade and US economics upside down. Just as we're settling onto a new normal the courts could pull the plug on the tariff based economy. I'm glad to be retired with well secured finances. Things are a mess and could be due to get worse.

I personally don't care about how they got here but wish that we had a fair system that lets people in a rational way. Because my ancestors immigrated here too. People who want to come and integrate and make the country better are appreciated. But I'm sure we've all seen that there's actually lots that haven't come to make it better and actually make it worse. It's bad enough that all of the effort and dreams of the founding fathers are being absolutely ruined by their own ancestors. The depressing part of following these things as they go along is that they were predictable and were predicted and now that they're apparent to everyone, there's no glory or happiness in being correct. Cassandra wasn't a happy story but a true story that generations STILL haven't understood.

I have no problem with people coming to the USA, working hard, and building a better life for themselves and their family.

The biggest problem with the recent/current situation is the people coming here who have no intention of working. Currently, it is costing the US taxpayer/government, over $60K per year per illegal immigrant. It is MUCH worse in Europe.

A sensible system would be a guest worker program. You can come in if you have a job lined up. You work, stay out of trouble, and then you can bring in your IMMEDIATE family, meaning your spouse and kids. NOT your extended family.

The problem with the guest worker program is that neither side wants it. Dems just want bodies, and are more than happy to buy their votes with handouts. Republicans are beholden to businesses that want to employ illegals with no documentation on the cheap.

I do not see how this would put pressure on the Supreme Court. Maybe that's what he is trying to do, but I think the Supremes are pretty well beyond popular opinion pressure.

I think that Trump has done a great job with the Tariffs. Just wish that he had gotten some kind of law through Congress to give him much more authority to do so. I am afraid that the Supreme Court is going to rule against Trump and repeal the tariffs. Which could create a fiscal crisis.

Maybe that's part of it but, it's about putting more money into the banking system. Because we all know that the "bankers" run the world and get what they. We do have the best politicians and political system that money can. Literally speaking haha

A financial analyst explained how this money is actually basically a bank bailout. Because we're teetering on the edge of the expected collapse and this might hold us up a bit longer. And it's probably just another kick the can down the road maneuver for instant gratification while ignoring the future pain.

Trump has shown some real shortsightedness of late. But these things are really just proof that Trump is almost entirely about Trump.

2. Trump wants the Republicans in the Senate to end the filibuster rules that make it so that you need 60 Senators to approve a bill through the Senate.

Ending the Senate filibuster would backfire on the Republicans the instant the Democrats get a majority in the Senate. This is improbable during Trump's term, and I guess that's why he doesn't care about the repercussions. Think back to how many loony Democratic ideas the filibuster stopped during the Biden and Obama presidencies. Without the filibuster, they would have happened.

I have more good news, there are now some more coal reserves in Alabama along with some iron reserves and the DOE has given some grants to coal fired power plants to increase efficiency as well as capacity.
There are also some new rare earth refining plants that are going to be coming online soon. I think the Trump fight with China and the whole thing with a trade deal is just to buy time to get these plants up and running and keep preparing for war.

Hello guys, I have a little time to post so I decided to do so. On Dekardis worry about AI I think this is a real issue, However there are ways to make the impacts on Americans less problematic. If we deport the illegals and end the h1b program and deport all of them this will soften the impacts of AI on the American citizenry. If we also cut down immigration and also start deporting any visa holder that breaks the law this would also help. To be clear when I say cut down on immigration I mean legal immigration and the cuts must be deep.
On Nick Fuentes and the other "far right" people, you guys still don't get it, they are growing because they listen to the regular everyday American that has been getting destroyed for decades. I believe that people have to do for themselves and be self reliant, but there is no doubt in my mind that over the last 50 years things have been getting progressively harder for regular people. I have never taken any government assistance and have worked like an animal to get where I am at and I am not as well off as people in previous generations were at my age. I am not complaining as that is the cards I was dealt and I have played them to the best of my ability and honestly I am doing better than a lot of people , I might even say better than most, but I have been in the working class my whole life and I know what that is like. I know what it's like to get in your crappy car that is the best you can afford and turn the key and be terrified that it doesn't start and now you have a new problem that is going to cost you money you don't have and might make you miss work days you can't afford to miss. This life I have lived wasn't that I was not budgeting right and was blowing money on luxuries like expensive cloths and eating at fine restaurants it was because of some bad luck and also because of policies like flooding the labor market with cheap labor from illegals. Now look at the regular people, you guys know the unwashed rabble like me, except they are not even doing as well as me. Along comes someone like Fuentes who is talking about real issues not BS issues that have 0 real impacts on these peoples lives and of course they are going to listen. What do the democrats and the GOP establishment do ? They continue to talk about crap regular people don't really care about and spend more money on illegals, people that have been on welfare their whole lives like the single mother with 5 kids and 5 baby daddies. If that isn't enough they send money to Israel and every country on this planet. If they complain they are told to shut up you filthy racist , sexist , antisemetic looser and try harder and pull yourself up by your bootstraps, and apparently you guys can't figure out how that wouldn't work for regular people. Call me or any of these people a racist , antisemite, islamophobe, sexist or any of the other names used to try and shut us down, guess what it isn't working anymore, people have had enough of that BS.
Maybe just maybe what the elites need to do is start listening to these people and actually start delivering some positive results for them instead of insulting them and making BS promises that they never intend to keep.
By the way when I talked about working through injuries like a broken hand or torn ligaments in the knee or other joints, we worked through these injuries and others while we worked construction and other tough manual labor jobs, not while we worked in a nice airconditioned office.
