Good point. But in that case you had an invader with Japan. I find it unlikely any Chinese neighbour could (or would) do that today.

I think if there was a revolt the world, in particular China's neighbours would breathe a sigh of relief. Significant Internal conflict would stop any expansionist dreams.

I know it's a bit of crystal balling but which do people think is more likely to occur in the short term - revolt of some kind in China or war of some kind with China?

I hazard to guess one would sabotage the likely hood of the other.
