Hey guys, you don't need typewriters. Have your technicians take an ordinary computer and remove all the communications hardware and software and all the ports, and then install an old-fashioned printer port connected to a cheap printer. That should work.

Really ?

That is exactly the type of common sense that allowed the United States to have such foreign intelligence ( and resulting military ) dominance sense World War II.

After the CIA / NSA traitor has been on Russian soil for more than one week ( or is it now more than 2 weeks? ) the Russians have either suddenly become "Paranoid" or they now know that such a quaint attitude is very dangerous to keeping secrets.

I am also not sure that these changes have been limited to just Putin's body guards. While the security agency that is implementing these changes does protect the Russian President's communications as one of their duties, I believe their counter espionage duties extend to many other areas of the Russian state.

Yes John that is logical --

However, if you are paranoid, a typewriter is the way to go. It is much easier to check for bugs in a typewriter then an electronic device. Russians can be quite practical at times. For example - in the early years of humans orbiting in space there was a problem regarding writing in zero gravity. The US spent time and money developing a ball point pen that could write in zero gravity, while the Russians used a pencil, same end result.

cheers
