page 78 - the Chinese military leader Zhu Di in the early 1400's began the systematic obliteration of Vietnamese nation identity by destroying native art, literature, dress and hairstyles, and forcing them to accept Chinese culture. This lead to a revolt in 1418 lead by Le L'oi freeing Vietnam from Chinese rule .
