Not really. The IRA attacks ceased after 2001 and the attacks since have been perpetrated by Islamic extremists (although we do not know who sent the letter bombs). In fact, since 2005 the IRA has gained considerable political power and has at least outwardly stated that they are no longer going to use violence. We'll see, but the data seem to support that.
