Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
This discusses how the U.S. government has manipulated media all over the world, and is now doing so here, specifically to influence elections. It is about an hour long, but feels like 10 minutes because it is so absorbing. Highly recommended for all on this forum.

After that, the decline we are experiencing will only accelerate. Countries/Governments as now known will not survive.
As a religious person, I believe this is what is prophesied in the Bible. And in the end it turns out very well for those with faith who are committed to that faith and its teachings.

Still think the war starts in Aprilo or May?
Seems really close now.

It seems to be going on in the Philippine Sea. Everyone gets so focused on Taiwan as the "war" but it's already in the beginning stages. Because it's a lose-lose scenario, they'll have to be prepared to endure the year's long suffering that destroying this world will bring. To EVERYONE including those making decisions. What's the fun of living in a bunker anyway? And the aftermath will be an unpleasant place to live. It's an unusual combination of stupidity and desperation that makes this global war gamble a difficult decision. It'll probably be a mistake by some idiot like we saw last week with Phillipine Coast Guard. Ship goes down, Shit goes down. Locked and loaded everyone is and ready for a fight that they don't want.Seems really close now.

If the Chinese can crash the grid and down the Internet, America will be hard pressed to counter attack, especially with millions of hostile illegals roaming the streets.Guest wrote: ↑Mon Feb 19, 2024 5:27 amNavigator wrote: ↑Thu Feb 08, 2024 9:41 pmThe coming war with China/Russia will be a tough slog, and we will get through it in roughly the same shape as Britain/France post WW1.

** 19-Feb-2024 World View: Tucker Carlson and Putin's history of Ukraine
I've always thought that Tucker Carlson
on Fox News was interesting, but also
weird, such as during his regular
segments on aliens from another galaxy
visiting the earth.
Since being fired from Fox News, Carlson
has been struggling to find a way to
return to his former glory, and his
recent trip to Moscow to interview
Vladimir Putin was a part of that
effort.
Putin pretty much hijacked the interview
by insisting on spending a half-hour
lecturing Carlson on the history of
Russia, going back to the 800s, claiming
that Ukraine is a fake nation. I found
the BBC's analysis of Putin's history
lecture to be very interesting.

I have doubts about Russian endurance. Russia's economy is bad. Rural Russians can't afford to heat their homes. Ethnic strife within Russia is on the horizon. The shelves in the supermarkets are stocked because few can afford to buy much. A potemkin village.
Glad you're feeling better, John.

There's some here that would say the same thing about Europe and the US. And it's probably more correct than not. The best way to defeat an open and honest society by it's opposite, is subterfuge. Somehow we came to believe that after the Cold War, we had actually 'won'. Instead we became more like the losers of that war and they hope we collapse of our own accord. Because that's the only we could be defeated. WithinI have doubts about Russian endurance. Russia's economy is bad. Rural Russians can't afford to heat their homes. I had the thought recently that these policies will ensure that a higher percentage of the non-white population than otherwise gets to represent the front line during the war. For fairness sake. Re: Generational Dynamics World View News
I watched Tucker Carlson's video on Russia, including where he talked about how amazing Russia was because, among other things, their groceries were so cheap. He spent 107 dollars on a single shopping trip, praising how much better this was than America.
Thing is, for some Russians, that would be close to a month's pay. The poverty rate in Russia is around $160 dollars a month, and over 12% of Russian make less than this. These are the official figures from the Kremlin, so best to view it with a skeptical eye. It helps explain why their military continues to see recruits, despite the high risk of being killed or wounded. You're offered a 5,000 dollar bonus for signing up, along with close to a 2,000 month salary. If you're a young man in poverty, lacking indoor plumbing, this is going to have a lot of appeal. Combined with over 100,000 prisoners, it allows Russia to sustain its offensive, contrary to Western hopes discontent would remove Putin from power.
As long as the upper classes in Russia consider the risk too great, and are insulated from the worst of the conflict, Putin's not going anywhere. Discontent doesn't equal revolution, and moving to a wartime economy does give people jobs, at least on a temporary basis. Western progressives hate hearing this, but war does give young men a certain sense of purpose, something they lack in modern society.
XXXXX
Right now, the top concern of most western elites is climate change, something that must be resolved at all costs, the economy be damned. If people (the working class) have to endure a lower standard of living, so be it, and they wonder why their agenda is so unpopular. The idea that we're facing a major war is too unfathomable. At most, they think of it as a Second Cold War, because people remember the Iron Curtain, not the terrible events on the 1930s.
China's extremely arrogant and desperate, a bad combination. One of their worst foreign policy strategies is turning the Philippines into an enemy, given how crucial they are for our containment plans. They threatened the nation with war over giving congratulations to Taiwan's new President, standard diplomatic protocol. Without the Philippines, containing China would be a lot more difficult, but they're allowing us to rebuild military bases thanks to the constant threats.
I also have serious doubts about Europe's willingness to back us up with China. They've got strong economic ties and China is a distant threat, so far as they're concerned. The media likes to blame it all of Trump, but while he plays a role, he's not solely responsible for the growing divide. Many in the U.S. see them as freeloaders unwilling to invest in their own militaries, and there's a fair amount of truth to that. Not everyone, but certainly Germany, Italy, Spain, and others.
Even if the public still leans toward supporting Ukraine, it's a distant war, so obstructing the new aid bill isn't likely to cost the GOP many votes. Russia's more a threat to Europe and their military reputation has taken a severe beating in the last 2 years. China being our main enemy is one of few things both sides will agree on, and they're a much stronger economy than Russia.
