Financial topics
Re: Financial topics
Funny though how Republicans seem to be unwilling to explain this to people. It's almost like they see the potential upside to their wealth management portfolios and are all in on it. Good luck if you're a small business owner and use any significant amount of power.
They will own you all, sooner than you think.

So what's your opinion? Is Texas in trouble because of frozen powerHiggenbotham wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 11:58 am> The engineers were technically clueless, which is typical of how

stations or because of frozen windmills?
I have no idea. The only thing I've tried to think through is why some customers like me have had power continuously while some have not had any for days. In other words, why there weren't rolling blackouts. I don't know the answer to that.
https://www.texastribune.org/2021/02/18 ... ges-ercot/If that doesn’t work — and it didn’t in this case — ERCOT has a last resort option: ordering transmission companies to reduce demand on the system with rotating outages for customers.
That’s what happened in the early hours of Monday morning.
Usually, those outages are limited to less than 45 minutes. But this week, the outages lasted days. That’s likely because after ERCOT ordered companies to stop providing power to customers, even more power generation tripped offline, and it was not able to “roll” the outages effectively, Johnson explained.
The amount of power ERCOT needed utilities to cut back in order to prevent complete blackout was so great that the companies didn’t have flexibility to roll power from one area to another to spread out the pain.
This is what I suspected - that the grid was so unstable that they were afraid to roll the outages or the entire grid would come down.
While the periphery breaks down rather slowly at first, the capital cities of the hegemon should collapse suddenly and violently.

John says I don't know anything about predictions, but yes I mentioned that the fragility is stepping directly into my prediction frame.richard5za wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 11:23 amOn a different subject, I wonder if the the market top has now been reached? AS I write S&P 500 below 3900

Hayek argued that in competitive private markets, private currency issuers would compete to maintain the value of their currencies.
Those who were less reliable or effectively stole from their customers would be driven out of the market.

I've called it mice and elephants. When the algos and the whales battle each other, I scamper around underneath them and pick up a few peanuts.

Maybe I should have added small business to the picture. Small businesses are snacks and the beast loves devouring them between meals of working man's wages and deferred infrastructure spending.
More background to this posted a few years ago.

What are they going to do if its like the blizzard of 1949.
Already the myopic souls compare it as the storm of the century.
They never will get it is painfully obvious.
As we noted we will see if it melts in a few other zones under surveillance.
Locally the blizzard of 1978 was severely devastating.
You guys in Texas are still lucky compared
to what we we already know.
Texas has the ability to learn from this and yea stay independent.
If they have surplus unlike the retards in Kommyfornia they will be just fine.
They are independent to keep the feds out of their business.
Overall its called winter Texas and you already know that.
I do invest is funds that have both renewables and natural gas supply.
Indonesia is being destroyed as we speak.
As for the query are you short. You have no clue to what's coming is our view.
The warnings are not heeded.

UN Participation Act of 1945. What's happening today in many areas of concern was planned long ago by way of this act.
Until it is rescinded the deterioration of America will continue.
According to CRFB, just 1 percent of the relief plan's spending would go toward vaccines,
and just 5 percent would go toward pandemic-related public health needs.
Meanwhile, 15 percent of the spending—about $300 billion—would be spent on long-standing policy priorities
that are not directly related to the current crisis.
You are going nowhere zone plantation dweller.
