Now if only they (Cuba and China) would see the "wisdom" in abolishing the one-party-state, I'd sing a happy tune, buy the world a Coke, and keep it company!

The "postmodern" urge to make everything chaotic and "discordant" is quite annoying.

My point, though, was more about the fact that moving from Socialism to "Free Markets" is great and all, but a Free Market system inside a one-party-state can't be really be called a "Free Market", as the one thing that isn't free in that society is thought and speech.

Economic systems don't operate well where ideological non-realities (utopian wishes) are more important than operational realities.

Hopefully, Cuban policy makers are more sensitive to the suffering of their people due to bad policy, than the suffering of their "ideological overlords" because that ideology is in error.

Very true. Now if only we can avoid these tired mistakes in America...

Wouldn't that be nice!? :)

I have about 14.2857% (plus a bit) confidence that we will avoid those mistakes,.. but then again, I had much less confidence that Trump would win.

..and extra points for finding the significance of that percentage number!

Breitbart is not posting this article. They don't tell me anything,
so I haven't been given a reason, but in this case the reason is
pretty obvious: talking about Cuba and free markets is against
right-wing ideology.

The fact that Cuba has been moving from Socialism to free markets in
the last ten years is as plain as the nose on your face. Government
departments were privatized, the bloated government bureaucracy was
fired, citizens may now own private property and run private
businesses. I've written several articles on this subject over the
years, and Breitbart posted them all until this one.

As obvious as Cuba's transition to free markets is, incredibly it's
impossible for anyone to acknowledge it:
  • Left-wingers can't acknowledge it, because they need a
"successful" Socialist country to point to, after the disaster in
Venezuela. To admit that Cuba is no longer Socialist is an attack on
the left-wing Socialist platform, as espounsed by nutcases like Bernie
    Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
  • Right-wingers can't acknowledge it because many conservatives,
especially Cuban exiles in Florida, view Cuba as the devil incarnate.
In my view, the Republicans could score a lot of points by saying,
"See, even Cuba is becoming capitalist, so vote for us, not the
    Socialists."
  • Most incredibly, Cuba can't acknowledge it. Cuba's government
still insists it's a fully Socialist country, even though it isn't.
As I wrote in the article, I thought it was very funny that even
Xinhua was acknowledging the success of private markets in
    Cuba.
This is the bizarre world that we live in, when even political
opponents of differing ideologies conspire with one another to promote
fake news, when what's really going on is totally obvious.

It reminds of the housing bubble. It was perfectly obvious that it
was going on, and I wrote about it many times in the mid 2000s decade.
But the "experts" didn't even acknowledge it until 2009, and then only
in retrospect "we had a housing bubble several years ago." Oh,
really?

Today the same issue is occurring with the stock market bubble.

By the way, Cuba was a free market country prior to 1960, and been
Socialist for only a few decades, so it's not surprising at all that
it's moving to free markets in a generational Unraveling era.

This Cuba issue shows very well how the world is so completely fucked
up today.

Cuba will go free market and will fully do so especially once Raul Castro dies. Regarding John's delusional beliefs that the "1990s political economic system" is popular with the american people, that is nonsense. Face it Americans are not rallying around being a globalist police force and globalist boy scouts. Same with Europeans, they are rallying against the EU becoming a United States of Europe, not for it. One form of the competing forces of Left-wing Authoritiarianism, Right-wing Authoritarianism, or Far-Right/nationalist authoritarianism, One of these force WILL ultimately triumph because thats what a 4T is all about. World Peace, Anti-genocide interventionism would not be the 4T social Model as practically no one supports that option.

As usual, you've written total gibberish, starting with the fact that
Cuba is in a 3T, not a 4T.
