:( My first memories of Libya stem from the NWO Anglican religion's giving of children's Lenten sacrificial offerings to despotic Libya. That was Libya's high point.
Libya now means one thing to Americans---Benghazi. Benghazi; hillary, barry and kerry allowing al queda to overrun our embassy and murder four (4) Americans including our non-combatant ambassador. Hopes of redress or civilized behavior in either Libya or America have long been abandoned.
The Libyan factions will continue pillaging and fighting. Responsible NWO American traitors will remain unpunished. One scenario is just slightly less civilized than the other.

What has become of the General National Congress (GNC) or its later incarnation the Supreme Council of State?

The GNC (based it Tripoli) was one of the "governments" that compromised together with the House of Representatives to form the Government of National Accord (GNA), at the end of 2015. But throughout 2016 and at least as late as October 2016, forces loyal to the GNC were fighting against forces loyal to the GNA.

So what has become of the GNC faction? Was it wiped out? Did it finally come to terms with the GNA? Are some of these militias still loyal to the GNC faction? Does anyone here know?

The GNC was ejected in 2016 when the Presidential Commission (PC) came
to town, but then morphed into a part of the High Council of State
(HCS), which is one of the factions still in Tripoli.

If you really want to go into this, then take a look at the reference
in the article to the Small Arms Survey report, and bring up the full
20 page report PDF. That report goes into mind-blinding detail about
every militia, almost on a week by week basis.

I read the report, it is very thorough.

What is Libya's Generational status?

Guys, it's Labor Day and all, and I am merely a woman.
This is a sincere question. Having lived through the shores of Tripoli, the Qaddafi years and the Benghazi outrage, what do you see in both reports and factions? We peasants who provide or are those who do battle await the 3D chess players' decisions and actions.
All of my family have been involved in service, both domestic and foreign. We all have scars, citations and medals. Looking at the human universal "norms", I do wonder how knowing what facts, based on individuals' perceptions, really matter in national leaders' decision-making. Libya is on every front a lost cause. Only traitors barry and hillary would have risked American lives in a violent country in a totally vulnerable unsafe compound. The barbarians are winning. The peasants are expendable.

When I was writing about the Libya situation in 2011, I couldn't
figure out whether the 1969 coup was a crisis war. Since then,
I've done a great deal of research on what happens to a country
in the decades following a crisis ethnic civil war, and now
I recognize the 1969 situation as fitting exactly the same
pattern as Syria, Burundi, Cambodia, and so forth.
