John wrote: The new agreement creates a military alliance between the two largest military powers in Europe, the only two nuclear powers in Europe, and Europe's two permanent members of the United States Security Council. With Britain leaving the European Union, it was felt that this bilateral alliance between the two countries takes on increased importance.
There are two problems with this paragraph. First, it is the United Nations Security Council. Second, Russia is a European country by almost any standard.

Russia is far from being a European nation by almost any standard. Russians themselves dispute this. Some say they are European; some say they are Asiatics (many of them even look like it), but now it's common to say 'not European, not Asian, just Russian'. Personally , having lived in Russia, I found ethnic Russians to far, far different from Europeans. I consider them to be more like the Iranians. Many of them could pass as white, but many couldn't. And while (under the Shah) the Iranians pursued a modernization program to make them more like Europeans, it didn't really work. Russians have different attitudes and ideas than Europeans. And Russians are incredibly xenophobic. I could go on, but see what many Russians themselves say. There are strange ethno-nationalistic movements in Russia that openly reject European identity.

Obviously the first mistake was a typo. We all make them. Even you.

There is no such thing as a Russian man. They are only subhuman neanderthals roaming around Russia that have yet to evolve. Russians are an ignorant criminal race. Enjoy eating some Western sex tourist's left overs...

"European" as a description of "culture" is very dubious.

It can certainly be used, sorta kinda somewhat, as a geographical description, but other than that it's really far too nebulous to be actually useful, except perhaps as an epithet.

But then again, if the goal is to grasp at and use epithets, it IS quite useful! :)

..and the rise of the new "puritans" continues...

Aloha nui gangies! <shaka!>
