So this is how Iran will come into the fold: regime change. President Trump is following Generational Dynamics, but he realizes that the Ayatollahs have to go. Perhaps the Iranians will get the Shah back?

It seems like Trump is in a hurry to put the coalition together and fight WW3. He should tread with caution. GD says forcing an issue could backfire.

It seems like, with the fall of ISIS, that clashes between former allies is just weeks away

^ I certainly hope we have more than *weeks*.

Can someone please explain to me the whole Saudi situation? I feel like I must be missing something. Obviously they are a long term ally and supplier of oil and we wouldn't want to shed that relationship too quickly, but at the same time I can't understand why we would be selling them billions in arms especially if the admin does follow GD. If you follow GD the only logical explanation is you approve the sale to make everything seem fine on the surface and then delay delivering them as long as possible. If that is the case then I guess it could be smart but otherwise you are arming your opponent. Thoughts? This is one of the relationships I have struggled to understand. Thanks for any insights.

The weapons in the $110 billion arms deal won't be delivered for
years.

So it's a delaying tactic?

I don't think that there were any tactics involved at all. The deal
has been negotiated since well back into the Obama administration, and
the signing ceremony was also scheduled a while ago, long before the
Qatar crisis. The weapons were always going to take years to be
delivered.

On the other hand, if the signing ceremony had been canceled by either
side, it would have been a major diplomatic incident. As things
stand, it was just business as usual.
