The Turkish army today, after the waves of mass arrests, torture, and even murders of members of its officer corps is in almost the same condition as the Soviet army was in 1938. The Turkish army is extremely powerful, but the combat experienced members of the leadership are now gone. I don't know how effective Turkey would be if a war started with Greece or Russia (both of whom are much weaker). Erdogan (like Stalin before him) has destroyed much of Turkey's fighting capabilities. The Turks themselves are highly polarized between the secular and the religious. Civil war is brewing (if it hasn't already started).
Greece is in shambles. Thousands of Greeks die every year from easily preventative deaths because of the poor state of the country's hospitals. Its school children are suffering third world levels of malnutrition. The pharmacies in Athens have trouble stocking aspirin. Not exactly a country in any condition to fight a war.
Russia is on the brink of economic collapse.
The Migrant crisis will crush Greece.
And No one has the strength to react.
