Why doesn't Erdogan open the floodgates for economic migrants aka refugees to come into Europe?
Is he still holding out hoping for a deal?

One thing you seem to be unaware about is the left increasing hatred of Russia in Europe, we have daily ads sponsored by the government advocating for war. Aldrimer.no is a government sponsored site pushing for war and sanctions against Russia and the name is even a Reference symbolizing Putin is Hitler and Russia is Nazi Germany which according to liberals it might as well be.

So will these leftist come to their senses as war with sunni muslims comes ahead and then even the leftists will start to warm up to Russia? Sort of inversion of world war 2 when western socialists were euphoric about working with Stalin's USSR and conservatives reluctantly agreed out of necessity?

What about the fact that almost all Muslims in Europe are Sunni and a great majority of these are Turkish descent with Properties in Turkey? Will we see US style of internment camps that happened to Japanese or will it be more violent?

Maybe Donald Trump has already made a deal with Putin to give him Europe (including Norway) in exchange for helping America destroy Sunni Islam and China?

Europe should fight its own wars. If you can't defend yourself, you don't deserve to be free.

Let Europe fall to "your friend" Putin. I could not care less.

No one seriously believes anymore that there's going to be a "deal"
that includes Turkey's minimal demand -- visa-free travel by Turkish
citizens in Europe's Schengen zone.

Opening the floodgates would be the "nuclear option" which, once done,
could trigger massive retaliation (short of war).

Still, Erdogan has repeatedly threatened to do this, and did so again
today in a major speech.

Actually, I've suggested in the past a different scenario. Ending the
EU-Turkey refugee deal isn't a binary on or off decision. For
example, Erdogan could move some of his troops from the coast along
the Aegean Sea to southeastern Turkey to meet the PKK threat.
Protection from PKK would be perfect cover for a decision that would
permit a small to moderate increase in the refugee flow. This would
serve notice to the EU that more troops could be moved away at any
time, to increase the flow some more.

Merely doing that would not trigger retaliation like the nuclear option,
but would cause Europeans to wake up to what might happen.

You're right that I have little understanding of Norwegian attitudes
towards Russia. I checked out a couple of pages on the site you
referenced:

https://translate.google.com/translate? ... edit-text=

https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... OXZKKNOpyQ

https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... lKr5ddINrA

https://translate.googleusercontent.com ... U8Rzev06LQ

However, this is a "defense and security" web site, so it's not clear
to me how closely it represents the general attitudes of Norwegians.

One of the questions I've speculated about over the last 10-15 years
is how the countries of Europe will align.

For example, if you look at previous crisis wars -- WW II, Napoleonic
wars, War of the Spanish Succession, 30 Years War -- France and
Germany have always been on opposite sides, and England has switched
sides between them. So if assume that history will repeat itself,
then France and Germany will be on opposite sides again. Or maybe
history will simply rhyme, and the European countries will split up in
some other way.
