The Turkish officer corps has been decimated. The officer corps has already been heavily purged and continues to be purged of military commanders deemed disloyal to Erdogan.

The Turkish army is extremely large, well trained, well equipped, and powerful, but the purges have left it is in disarray. How effective will the Turkish be against the Russians?

The current situation in Turkey reminds me of the state the Russian army was in during the late 1930s when Stalin murdered virtually every Red Army officer above the rank of major. Turkey doesn't have the territorial depth that the USSR had in 1941. The Turks can only retreat so far in order to regroup. I honestly wonder how well the Turks could wage war in their current condition.

Erdogan has wrecked Turkey. He fancies himself a new Ottoman sultan, but I don't think he will quietly go into exile like the last one if he is brought down. After all the suffering and humiliation he has dealt his people, he will most likely go out like the last czar.
