Your understanding of the British vote is poor.
The EU was not created to ensure peace, it was crested by Monet to ensure that France did not resist German adventurism for a 4th time after 1870 1914 and 1939. Pre-packed surrender dressed as containment.
The natural order of things is for birds of a feather to flock together, as Mohammed Ali said in his protests against miscegenation.
Put another way, fences (and walls) make for good neighbors. Brexit is 30 years overdue. The Germans are merely engaged in economic warfare to achieve their 1943 goal of a single European economic community centered around Berlin. Ironically, the Austrians will end up joining a new alliance with Hungary, taking us full circle.
Lions led by Donkeys was coined by German officers during the war, to describe the superior British and Commonwealth Tommies. Read Kipling.

I believe you are correct in saying this perception of a German-dominated EU was something the British did not want to endure any longer. I believe that is Mr. Xenakis' point, that the British's rise of nationalism and desire to take back their country is what is on the rise. A growing anger between German, UK, France etc with an always present Russia has been seen before...

What you've written isn't history. It's an ideological screed. Jean
Monnet (not "Monet") did play a big part as a founder of the European
Union, but describing his motive as "pre-packed surrender" is really
silly, as is the rest of what you've written.

As for "Lions led by Donkeys," the Wikipedia article lists several
references dating back to the Crimean War.
