Millennials are mad because they get one less layer of government to hand them free goodies at the forced expense of others, and one less opportunity to get a career in paper pushing, complete with gold plated public pension. Let's face it, there's not many job openings for gender studies majors these days

Not to mention its one more nail in the coffin of the global commune utopia they've all been told is just around the corner.

Also, it had been reported that scarcely 50 individuals showed up to a pro-EU protest outside of parliament today. I'm not convinced the people who are "furious" about this don't just amount to a few Twitter warriors, casual cause-celeb band wagon jumpers, and the usual professional protestors, complete with pre-printed signs handed out by some student's union or some such.

Percentages against age brackets is interesting.

I assumed that immigrants / children of immigrants would vote much more strongly to remain in EU. And given immigrants / children have a much younger age distribution than the original group, this may significantly distort the percentages against age. Appears to be so at least somewhat, last graph of below link has race percentages. Eg those identifying as black only had 25% vote to leave, 30% for chiinese/hindu/muslim.

As the population continues to shift, maybe in the future there will be very strong desire to rejoin, taking a guess - 20 years.

Also has other comparisons, some areas voted to remain / leave well into 70%'s, eg London to stay. No big surprises on political preferences and percentages either.

Interesting how some people can explain their xenophobia by scapegoating.

Also worth noting that the furious millenials who so overwhelmingly care about and support the EU actually cared enough to wake up on a Saturday morning, put their phones down for a moment, and vote to the tune of around 36 percent total turnout for 18-24yo...Lol

On a related note has anyone caught the coverage of the militant left in London? A disgruntled coalition of “anti-fascists”, communists and anarchists with their faces masked have rallied in central London with marauding, violent gangs of “anti-fascists” keeping reporters from taking photographs or getting near the speakers. Also, at least one labour MP has called for the result of the vote to simply be "ignored"!

I imagine we'll be reading an article posted here tomorow about the violent, fascist, anti-journalist and autocratic tendencies of ALL those people who voted remain......

The BrExit vote is pretty good evidence that the fourth turning is here and in full swing. I'm not mad at the millennials, they have no power, or experience seeing how bad us Boomers and Gen-X'ers really are. If the honchos in the UK had given one good god damn about the people left behind in their globalization efforts this wouldn't have happened. But, hey there was money to be made, so they made it, and now it is with shock and horror that the trampled masses didn't roll over and die in silence like they were suppose to.

There's nothing bad about it unless you count all the times it led to war, slaughter and genocide. But, if you feel that those are qualities worth pursuing, then by all means be xenophobic.

Of course it's moronic. So is tarring millions of normal British people as racists with no evidence. Just sayin.

Anyways enough of that.

John, have you heard that aparently there are some In Hong Kong calling For a referendum to rejoin the UK, believing it will be easier to gain independence from Britain than from China In fact campaigners in Hong Kong have started a political party to lobby for a referendum.

Now that's a bizzarre twist, and obviously the CPC won't stand for this. Do you think there's any credibility to this? Is there any significant support for this in Hong Kong? I can't find any relevant polls.

Furthermore, if we take the party's reaction to even the smallest of slights or symbolic gestures by the ROC as an example, what will the severity of the response be to Hong Kong if this movement gains any traction?
