So is there anything that's going to stop Assad's slaughter? At least right now, it doesn't look like anything will. It looks almost like a civil war, except for the fact that many have been arrested. If this was a civil war, they would have just been slaughtered like they were in Libya.

Now that we're leaving Iraq, it seems like the terrorists are becoming emboldened. The Anbar Awakening may have kicked many of them out, but I always figured some of them remained.
