If North Korea is truly in a Crisis Era, I think we have to expect that North Korea may well eventually use whatever nukes they have or will have, even if it assures their own extermination. Such is the nature of a militaristic nation caught up in a Crisis Era conflict with a long-time enemy. By the same token, we have to expect that our own leaders may eventually resort to nukes as well, for all the same reasons. Certainly President Trump has said that all military options are on the table. One must assume that "nuclear strike" is one of those options.

Looking at a classic example of a Crisis War, we need look no further than Germany under Adolph Hitler. When he made his first tentative land grabs, many experts in other nations expressed sentiments along the lines of "That's scary, but I think that Herr Hitler isn't as as crazy as he seems. Surely he will not go any further and risk a military response."
