China - Following Russia's Lead - Showing world U.S. Weak ?

Russia is challenging the post World War II international order by trashing two of the underpinnings of modern international law:

1. International Borders are not changed by force, and,
2. International Nuclear non-proliferation treaties, agreements, and regimes encourage countries not to develop, nor retain, nuclear weapons.

Russia guaranteed Ukraine's borders, by treaty, in return for Ukraine giving up it's nuclear arms to Russia. Russia, the only country in the world with thousands, upon thousands, of nuclear weapons of all sizes, in 2014, used military force, and threats of using even greater military force, to take a part of the largest country located entirely in Europe ( Ukraine, Russia took by force the Crimean portion of Ukraine ) and passed a Russian law claiming Cirmea is now a part of the country of Russia, and is no longer a part of the country of Ukraine.

China, in addition to Russia , is challenging the post World War II world order by tearing up an international agreement between China and Japan. The torn up agreement had settled all war reparations between China and Japan, thus allowing Japanese corporations, beginning in 1972, to invest in China, with the Japanese private investments in China protected by the rule of law and private property rights for their investments in China.

This most recent action, which occurred Sunday, April 20th, 2014, compliments China's continuing efforts to take the territory of China's neighboring counties by military force ( Tibet ) and the threat of Military force ( South China Sea, East China Sea ).

In this recent Chinese government action, a Chinese court ( the court system is not independent in China and follows the orders of the Communist party and also the orders of the President of China who is also an elite member of the Communist Party ) has ruled that Chinese individuals ( and their heirs ), and Chinese businesses, and their successors, can make World War II related financial claims, including decades of lost rent and interest claims, against private Japanese companies assets located in China, and that any such "commercial" claims are not "war reparations", so the war reparations satisfaction agreement does not apply.

China's government seized a Japanese ship, owned by a Japanese corporation ( a corporation that did not even exist in World War II ), in A Chinese port on Sunday, April 20th, 2014 to satisfy such a newly allowed World War II related "commercial" claim.

China's foreign ministry, three days before, had released a statement indicating all the difficulties between Japan and China might go away if Japan would just give China some Islands that Japan and the United States recognize as Japanese territory, but which China wants and claims.

It seems a coincidence that these conflicts are sprouting up on the eve of Obama's trip to Asia, with Obama's purported reason for the trip being to show support for U.S. allies in Asia.
