..oh,.. just explaining why the universe isn't "random", and why the various dynamics of the universe are worth looking into.

Any further questions? :)

However, I want to emphasize again that my intuitive understanding of a "chaotic event" and "trend event" has served me very well for 15 years, even if I can't explain it rigorously.
I always see the "3D chaotic butterfly" in my mind's eye whenever "chaos" comes up as a topic of conversation.

For a "long lived" chaotic system, such as the GD Crisis War producing system, it takes enormous energy (input) to "get away from" the butterfly.

That describes your "trend event", as it will "inevitably" occur and reoccur.

It takes very little energy to "change lanes" within the butterfly.

That describes your "chaotic event", as huge relative movement WITHIN the butterfly can result from very tiny energy inputs ("triggers").

..but the butterfly always remains.

GD Theory describes (portions) of the butterfly, and only "points to" those things to look at that provide the "triggers" which themselves are "smaller" butterflies of their own.

Butterflies travelling within butterflies.

..it's very wise to "work on" the macro-butterfly first! :)

Yet more idiocy from the Chinese government that's going to make things worse for everyone (at least in Asia) in the short term.

On December 9, 2019, the government filed with the FISC public and classified versions of the OIG Report.6 The OIG Report describes in detail the preparation of the four applicationsfor electronic surveillance of Mr. Page. It documents troubling instances in which FBI personnel provided information to NSD which was unsupported or contradicted by information in their possession. 7 It also describes several instances in which FBI personnel withheld from NSD information in their possession which was detrimental to their case for believing that Mr. Page was acting as an agent of a foreign power. 8

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, pursuant to FISC Rule of Procedure 62(a), that the government shall, no later than December 20, 2019, complete a declassification review of the above-referenced order of December 5, 2019, in anticipation of the FISC' s publishing that order. ** 17-Dec-2019 World View: BBC interview with Taiwan's Foreign Minister

In the last few hours, the BBC interviewed Joseph Wu, Taiwan's Foreign
Minister.

Wu said that the "one country, two systems" concept would never be
acceptable to Taiwan because it's been a failure in Hong Kong.

He said that the CCP is trapped by what's happening in Hong Kong.
  • If the mainland army intervenes in Hong Kong, it will be the
end of "one country, two systems."
  • If the CCP does not intervene, then the situation in Hong Kong
will continue to deteriorate, which will prove that "one country, two
    systems" doesn't work.
When asked about the CCP's stated plans to invade Taiwan and annex it,
Wu said that they're trying to maintain the status quo, and keep the
peace.

In response to a question related to America's "desertion" of the
Kurds in Syria, Wu said that Taiwan still considers America to be a
reliable ally.

Wu said that Taiwan needs more help from the United States:

"What we are asking for actually, is quite simple. It's for the United
States to provide defense articles for Taiwan, so that Taiwan is able
to defend itself, and also to engage with Taiwan in military training
or military co-operation so that Taiwan is much better equipped."

Would this be a plausible way for the war to start? (Not saying it'll necessarily happen this way)

Shortly after the Taiwanese elections, their government declares their formal independence from China. Within hours, China demands Taiwan rescind this proclamation, using a combination of threats and economic incentives to pressure them. Exports are brought to an end, leading to protests on both sides within Taiwan.

The United States calls for calm and the United Nations pushes for a peaceful resolution, with most of the pressure on Taiwan. China begins moving their forces across the sea while denying any such move. The President considers sending more forces to the region, with many on both sides of the political isle fearing involvement in another conflict.

Despite international pressure, chaos in Hong Kong convince those in Taiwan they wish to be a formally separate nation. China finds itself paralyzed, having nothing but bad choices in front of them. Economic sanctions only anger those in Taiwan and arms sales from the United States increase due to the growing tension.

After weeks or months of diplomatic wrangling, China launches an attack. Hundreds of short-range missiles impact Taiwanese air fields and naval ports, destroying a significant number of their defenses. What remains of their aircraft prepares to defend their nation. The PRC air force suffers disproportionate losses, but obtain air supremacy. The President responds by sending two carrier strike groups to the South China Sea.

China warns the United States not to interfere, declaring this to be an internal matter. Transports begin sailing toward Taiwan, its military preparing to make China bleed for every inch of ground. An emergency session is held in the United Nations, but China makes it clear independence will not be tolerated. Galvanized by the attack, Taiwan's government remains defiant.

The United States is left with two unpleasant choices when it becomes clear China will not back down. If they intervene militarily, we'll fight a bloody war we haven't seen for decades. If we fail to act, we send a message to our other allies in the region our protection means nothing. Our President continues to threaten and demand China's withdrawal, but is restrained by strong anti-war sentiment. A third carrier group is deployed, with American troops in Japan and South Korea on maximum alert.

Hong Kong erupts in rioting, fearing they'll be next on the chopping block. Out of patience, China sends troops to contain the rioters, leading to more deaths. NATO condemns the brutality, with reports of widespread massacres hitting the news, which China denies.

Reluctantly, the President declares that unless China withdraws from Taiwan by a certain date, we will have no choice but to intervene. Japan in particular watches this with great dead, believing they will soon be under similar attack. For the first time in nearly 80 years, Japan debates the merits of preventative war. China and America's navy engages in a standoff.

China's government debates on what to do. Some argue America's threat is empty based on anti-war sentiment. Others worry if they don't strike now, America will increase their forces in the region even if there is no direct intervention. Throughout this time, the trade war resumes with a vengeance.

Xi Jinping makes his decision and orders his forces to attack, informed that their ballistic missiles are capable of destroying American carriers. At 5:57AM local time, China's attack commences. Submarines aim torpedoes at American carriers, which are sunk in moments, but not before they deliver their deadly payload. Our ships have more than several hundred missiles aimed at them, including the carrier-killers. Most are shot down or evaded but enough get through that most ships are sunk or crippled. Having nothing to lose, the planes we managed to get into the air destroy more than two dozen Chinese vessels and 150 planes.

Over 10,000 die in this attack and all three carriers are sunk. Out of 34 ships we sent to the South China Sea, only 5 survive. Yet this is only the first blow. Long-range missiles are aimed at Guam, while American leaders debate a nuclear response. The portions of the Pacific Fleet at Guam are destroyed with little opportunity to strike back. Knowing that the United States has to be crippled, China follows up with anti-satellite weapons, taking out most of our military assets in space.

But perhaps the greatest blow is to our power grid. Backdoors in the equipment hijack our grid, overloading and destroying transformers and computers all across the country. More than 80 million lose power, some of which will not be restored for months. Few in the Pentagon believed China would truly attack and even fewer imagined it would be so successful.

But China has made a crucial mistake: believing we would sue for peace after such a blow. A few days later, they offer terms: withdrawal from Taiwan and the Pacific region. To sweeten the deal, they offer to forgive a portion of our debt. However, a furious public now demands vengeance and the President furiously rejects the terms.

I think it is a lampoon of "All we are saying, is give peace a chance."

Trevor: I see that as plausible.
