Thanks, that sounds great!
Please send me an e-mail message at
john@generationaldynamics.com with
your contact information. Also let me know what the five web sites
you're managing are.
You should be aware that both web sites have been under DDOS attack
for almost ten years. The attack has been continuous, and the attacks
have come from Chinese IP addresses. The intensity has gone down in
the last year, but it's still going on, and probably could increase
again.
That's the reason that the forum is on a different web site with a
different web host than the main web site. I was getting a lot of
flak from web hosting companies because they blamed me for the Chinese
attack, so I split them up. Kris Jurski at Vital Web Hosting stepped
in and saved my life by dealing with the DOS attacks. He's been
incredibly helpful as the attacks took different twists and turns,
helping me instead of blaming me.
I mention all this because you may wish to reconsider the idea of
combining these two web sites with all your others. Your other web
sites may suffer greatly, and your web host may complain to you and
blame you. At the very least, you may have to have a private disk for
all your web sites, if you don't already. It may also be best
to keep the web site on Vital, because they're used to handling it.
One thing that I am considering doing is moving the forum web site to
Vital, since Newtek has had a lot of problems, as regular forum users
may have discovered. But if I do that, I would still keep them in
separate accounts, for protection in case the attacks increase again.
