"Unbelievable Stupidity Saves 1000s of Lives in Yemen",.. should be the headline for this wacky situation.

How was MBS THAT fnerkin' stupid, to have so botched his "Khashoggi problem"? If this was fiction, it would never be written, as it's too ridiculous.

Wasn't there a leader of the "old regime" in Yemen that was gonnnnna settle things, but something happened that "hardened the sides" which forced him to not settle things which kept the problem going?

..the point being that this rather sounds like a proxy war being stoked by "outside stoking" because the internal resentment is not QUITE hot enough to keep the fire going.

Fishbelly, you hit the mark. This "gesture" has naught to do with Christmas spirit or mercy. Political and PR maneuvering. Very soon we will be back to business as usual. And now the Syrian safety zone is not safe.
